mordil
Hi,.. this is my current "project". I did some things to the natural finished Pacifica: - Frets 12-22 fretless - Build-In Octaver - LEDs under the Pickups - Toggle Switch - Turned the Yamaha to a Ibanez Headstock Currently I am trying to build in a Piezo Pickup. I have already tested the Piezo, it works. So I tried it with active electronic (preamp). But then it is Humming. I don´t know whats wrong, someone has an idea? Here some pics:
specter
Hi, what would be the advantages of going fretless from 12-22 as opposed to a full fretless? Also, how do you plan to refinish it?
Slabbefusk
I cant really see in the picture but does that guitar have a neck-angle?
Ki swordsman
wow awesome ideas, tell me more about these leds under the pups, got a pic in the dark? how did you do the fretless part? did you file the original frets flat or remove them and use a wood filler? looks great man
mordil
- The Finish? mhh, just black with a white painted "binding". - On a fretless it is very difficult to play chords,.. so I have frets for chords and fretless for some experimental solos :-) - My english is not very good, what do you mean with neck angle? doo you mean Headstock angle? - sorry no pic in the dark til yet. I´ll make some and post them. - I pulled them out after heating them, then I used woodfiller.
Alexander
That looks cool! What are the switches and studs behind the bridge for? I presume they operate the octaver? I had an idea to put leds underneath a strat pickguard, then drill lots of holes in it, so I'd be interested in seeing your in the dark pics here! Slaughthammer
the neck angel ist he angel between the neck and body of a guitar, the headstock angel ist between the neck and the headstock
mordil
- Yes the switches behind the bridge are for the octaver settings, turn on/Off, status LED and a switch for the pickup-LEDs. - so the neck is not angled

Northendem
The only reason it would be humming, is if it does'nt have a good solid ground. Or there could be metal fragments in the system

Alarung
Looking nice... But not like a Pacifica Tele. What model was it before you changed it? I have a Pacifica 302, and I must say it's a nice guitar. Most Yamaha's are. I'm not a fan of turning "guitars" into "axes", but to each his own. Great job man!
