Find Feylya A Guitar

Right, I'm in the market for a new guitar. I have €500 or $500 (with taxes and shipping, it works out equal). I'd prefer to buy from Europe and buy new but importing from America or Japan is acceptable if the shipping costs are included.

I'd like a fixed neck (set or neck through) and a fixed bridge. Dual humbuckers are required but a single in the middle is acceptable. I'd also prefer for the body to be "real" wood (no agathis or basswood).

Right, have at you!

I have played both of these guitars and they were excellent, although the M1200 one is out of your pricerange:

Definitely worth trying to check out though, from what i've heard, Corts are far more common in music shops in Europe than they are in the states or here in Australia, but I really don't know for sure. I was very impressed with the M1200, however they have changed the models a bit, as some have Seymour Duncan JB/59 pickups and some have mightymites, but for the same price, so it would pay to do some hunting.

Good Luck! If you get in a jam, you could always do what im doing and spend a bit more and assemble a warmoth guitar? They have lots of great stuff in their showcase.

That Parker doesn't appear to be what I would normally expect - I thought they all used the carbon necks / fretboards? The specs say that it has a maple fretboard but the pic doesn't appear to show that.

Does Parker make a cheaper (price - not neccessarily quality) line of guitars that don't use their carbon necks w/SS frets, piezo bridge, ...?

Guitar bargains have been around for ages. I remember about a year ago they had a write up in a UK mag I think it was Computer Shopper or something not sure of the name but one of those mags with all the computer hardware and software reviews. I know they gave them an excellent review and I've been checking the site every now and then since.

Found another one...

Ibanez RGT 42 FM DR

Flame Maple on mahogany body, bound neck. I have the older RGT42 With the TRS trem. Its a great guitar with my bridge aside. At least it now comes with the New Edge II. Pretty guitar. :D

Yea they do, the P ones are the cheaper line and the Flys are more expensive

eddiefletcher.....ever play a Fender acoustic? Did you like it? Cort makes them.......don't let a label fool you. Most guitars are made by a very few companies and have a different label put on them at the end of the line. My experience with Cort is that they are very good guitars for the money. Not a $2000 custom job by far but a great axe for the price.

Just a little FYI..... :D

Wow I had no idea :D To be honest I've bought so many of the cheaper brand guitars in my life I've never really had a good experience with them. The worst was the old fender squier strats which were awful. But thanks man I'll bear that in mind. I think the mrs has got me into "label" shopping! B)

haha yeah, well eddiefletcher I assumed you already knew that when you bagged them :D

Just like most brands (since they really are probably made in the same factory) the lower models are generally pretty dodgy, but for the money I think the higher end models are great, the M1200 I played was amazing, and I could have taken it home for $1100AU with a hardcase (on special), which is just unheard of. The X-Custom is also very nice, but I guess it probably has trouble standing up against the horde of Ibanez guitars that are in that exact market B)

The higher end Jazz boxes are also very nice :D I've also owned 4 different Cort acoustics and all of them bar one were excellent.

They may not be in everyones good books, and someone who has a really indepth knowledge of the industry might have some bad words or something, but so far, provided im not cheaping out and getting a low model I have no hesitiation in getting Cort stuff provided it fits the bill

The faxing of the credit card seems to be standard practice with European retailers. I know I had trouble with Thomann.de looking for a fax of my credit card, even though I had already placed two seperate orders worth €200 each using the same card 6 months and a year previously

do not order that guitar from guitar bargains if you are here in the u.s.

you can go to music123.com and get the same guitar for a better price after shipping...or you could use the money you saved on shipping to buy the new geiger edition rgt(yes you heard me right) and STILL come out cheaper.

and you will not have snotty "credit checkers" asking you to fax personal credit card info all over the world
