The Drak Blanket Apology

Recommended Posts

Drak,

I certainly won't accept no stinkin' apology from you.

All you did to me was to walk me step by step through one of my first builds - the zebrawood in my sig. Each screw-up on my part resulted in an e-mail to you, generally with pictures, and a response that answered my stupid question and included your encouragement to keep moving ahead. At that point, you were the best resource I had. In fact, you are the one who turned me onto PG. Thanks for that too.

Anyway, your work and your willingness to help have earned my respect………………of course, that and $3.50 will get you a latte. :D

Thanks,

Marty

I might as well chime in, Drak has been rough on me, but... its like that teacher in school that pushed you, I am still here and getting better. I enjoy his comments, though strong, he critiques my work to make it better, few people have the gusto to do that.

Ahhhh, Derek Derek Derek.....You are not going to get off that easily my friend.

For giving you a rough time on your first dyed finishes, a much rougher time than you needed, you are entitled, yes indeed, to ONE BIG DRAK APOLOGY FLORAL BASKET! :D

I am now sending the FTD man to your door, so when you see a guy dressed in a pair of gold lame shorts and a fruit basket and wings on his head show up at your door....yup, that's your special BIGD DRAK APOLOGY done found it's way home to you. :D

and ANYONE who wants a personal apology from me for -anything- negative they have experienced from me is openly invited to PM me -directly- to receive a direct and personal apology, no exceptions, everyone is invited (well, for 30 days anyway

If we don't like our apology, do we have up to 30 days to return it? :D

Just kidding. Nice to hear the good news.

i want an apology for always outclassing my instruments with your work...i think if you are truly wanting forgiveness, you need to start finishing your guitars with food coloring and spray can acrylic,so that i can get some attention!

sell your spray rig and develop palsy...i can accept no less

Hmmmmm, the best I can come up with is to have your apology delivered by an escort service representative first weeker, dressed up like Little Red Riding Hood.

Will that suffice sans the palsy? :D

The only BS I can remove is my own. The rest is up to each individual.

As the saying goes, think globally, act locally. :D

BTW, been listening to my new Roy CD that I bought yesterday.

Did you get 2nd album with the orange cover?

I think that would be in my top 5 desert island discs, maybe not for everyone, but it speaks to me like few others can.

Speaking of trading discs, I just bought The Allman Bros. 'Hittin' The Note' and have been seriously diggin' it for a few days now, I absolutely love it. Slide guitar rules. B)

Well, yes you can return it, but they come with a 5 year warranty. If you see me acting like a 'tard within 5 years, notify me of said injustice and a fresh, brand spankin' new apology will be delivered via FedX Overnight. :D

Couldn't find the orange cover disk. Since it was an emergency purchase, I bought what I could find - the Alligator deluxe edition. Pretty good.

Ah, the Allman Bros. On that disk, they do a nice version of an old Freddie King song - Woman Across the River.

Slide does rule. I'm thinking that when I finish what I have underway (about 6-8 years from now at this pace), I'll think up something specifically for a slide setup.

Yes, very good, I like the Alligator years too, but different. Much more processed than his early years. Early years are pure, pure, pure straight Telecaster thru Fender Amp tone.

Me like very much. :D

Hey Drak I saw your sig has a phrase I am very familiar with. Is this an original phrase from Perfect Circle or did they borrow it from another band? If so, what band? I had the cd and it was stolen along with every other cd I ever owned and my car stereo system for a total of about $2500.00. Thanks I just would like to know, because I don't have that cd anymore to look and see. And I know PC borrowed a lot of the music for emotive. Thanks. Jason

Cool, I had a feeling they got it from somewhere. I think it's cool they got it from someone so great, it makes the quote even better to me. Elvis Costello rocks, and has been rocking for a while! Thanks Drak! If you haven't heard eMOTIVE by Perfect Circle, check it out it's a great cd! It's supposed to be a bit political, but I didn't find it so. And most of the songs are remakes of great songs like Imagine, JL. It's really worth checking out, though some might find it strange, but thats the kind of stuff I like, oh and it's kinda short unfortunately. Later. Jason

I hope you like it! It seems to be hit and miss for most Perfect Circle fans. I liked it, and it seemed to grow on me as well. A lot of my friends didn't think much of it at all. I think if you are expecting to hear something similar to the other Perfect Circle albums like 13th step and mer de noms, you won't like it as much, but if you go in without expecting to hear a certain sound or style you will like it. Because it is mostly covers like Devon said, so it's sounds quite a bit different than the others. Well let us know if you like or dislike it? Later. Jason

But I LOVE Mer de Noms and 13th Step.

Those Cd's are albums I can listen to, all the way through and on repeat and never want to change it. Absolutely incredible albums, and in my eyes they aren't too much of any genre. They seem to have a solid influence from many aspects of music, which makes it so much fun to listen to. And in concert they are amazing as well. Billy Howerdel is a great guitarist and he is the one who created the band. When I saw them the last time I think, it was when 13th step had just come out or was about to come out, and they just recruited some new members including the guitarist from smashing pumpkins, James Iha, and the bassists from Marilyn Manson Jeordie White but I can't thik of what his nickname was now, anyone know what it is? Izzy or ziggy or something? Any how they played an amazing set, and those new member had just been flown out a couple dates earlier and learned all the material in a couple days, and believe it or not they played flawlessly. And perfect Circle isn't straight forward rock chords or anything, it's pretty intricate, not super fast or anything with burning solos but difficult none the less. I think the only band that I felt was better in concert was Tool.

They both have the same singer Tool & Perfect Circle. But the tool show was just very involving, it sucks you in and you feel like you are in another place and time it was very crazy. I just lost myself in the music, there were many long instrumentals and recorded phrases, and really long intricate intros to some songs. Really just the best concerts I have ever seen. I've seen them a couple times and they equal each time. The concerts gave me a whole new appreciation for them, most if not all of the songs were lengthened and changed around and sounded even better than the albums. I honestly can't wait to hear their new stuff, I think primal said it would be out later this year. I hope so. Their music also seems so timeless to me, all the records I have an equal appreciation for. Oh yeah and Adam Jones is amazing, he is the guitarist for them, he also does most of the artwork, which I'm sure if you have seen them you know how crazy it is. He aslo had a hand in the videos they made. Sorry about the rant, it always amazes me that more people don't listen to them, it really is great music to me. But I guess everyone has their own style and sound!

Thanks for making this post Drak, I think you have cooled some of the fire around here. I'm stoked you decided to stick around, from what I have read you do a lot of good around here, far more than any issues you've had, and I think people have a hard time understanding certain things via the computer. Have a good one Drak and Post some more pictures of the Pheart carved top if it hasn't been properly introduced to the WOD. I would love to see how it turned out. Later Man. Jason

Twiggy Ramirez.

And a little correction about Adam Jones. He does all of the stop motion animation for their videos, but an artist Chet Zar does a lot of the art work for them. He did all of the artwork video stuff that they project on the jumbotrons during concerts.

I've been out for a bit and I've just found this thread, so I just want to say:

I thought our argument was entertaining and I hope we get to have another one soon - and I CERTAINLY don't need an apology :D. You do pretty amazing work, and if you really are going to be gone for a while, I hope you come back soon - PG will be less without you.
