Well guys and girls, I am finished with my first guitar! Still have to put the strings on it, but that's no big deal. This is a Walnut body with a maple top, 2 piece maple neck with a walnut stripe and a rosewood fretboard. Here are some pics:

I like that top. Really nice color. I did notice the neck sticking barely in the body....or does neck continue under neck pup. Not a big fan of your AANJ solution. Bit square for my liking. Overall great guitar though.

The neck continues under the neck pickup ala PRS. The AANJ is a bit square but it joins the body at the 22nd fret, so it is extremely comfy to play!!

does the neck have an angle? im sort of confused with the angles so im trying to catch someone early on :D

also, did you perfect the walnut part of the body first then put the top on and made it flush? or did you glue both blanks on then cut them out as a pair?

thanks...great job again

The neck has a 3 degree angle. I cut out the 2 piece walnut body and then glued the maple top to it.

thanks Kevin, is there a specail jig you made for the neck angle?

sorry for so much questions, but you did so good on this first project

Thanks for the kind comments! The only thing I did was mark out a 3 dergree angle on the heel of the neck and carefully sanded down to it. The neck pocket is sanded flat and straight. I knew I had to use a neck angle because I was using the Pigtail wraparound bridge.

Hey mate, just thought you might want to read over the picture posting rules...

ALL pics are to be no more than 640x480 pixels.

- ONE PIC PER POST., except in the Tutorial sections, where you are allowed up to 10 pics per post.

- All subsequent (following) pics in a post are to be linked. DO NOT USE THE "IMG" TAG for pics 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.

- DO NOT HOT-LINK TO PICS NOT OWNED BY YOU AND ON YOUR OWN SERVER. Use the URL tag instead to provide a link to the pic.

- ABSOLUTELY NO PORNOGRAPHIC MATERIAL IS TO BE POSTED. Posting of such will result in an IMMEDIATE ban from the site. "Guitar porn" excluded. :-)

- When quoting a post with a pic in it, CHANGE THE 'IMG' TAG TO A LINK, or remove it from your post.

- Keep the pics on topic in each thread.

Killer guitar you have got there though man, I REALLY like the finish :D
