Santah
*edit* check 2nd page for pics of strat My first guitar project: http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/skulleada/...tblog/SG-01.jpg http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/skulleada/...tblog/SG-04.jpg http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/skulleada/...tblog/SG-06.jpg http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/skulleada/...tblog/SG-08.jpg Was an epiphone g-400 but everything was replaced, so the only original part left was the wood. Figured epiphone didnt really deserve the credit for it anymore, so I made up my own brand, "ignition". Edited May 6, 2006 by Santah

PostModern Good job. Thanks. Yes they are GFS Dream 90's. Got them from their site rather than ebay though. I was actually going for a modern look, so its cool that you picked up on that

The Fatalities
really cool! will it be sold? if its called ignition guitars, there should be a signature item like an ignition key as a volume knob. just a thought

johnsilver
Santah, really nice. I like the black TOM and tailpiece, and the way you matched the piece between the fretboard and the neck pickup to the pickguard and around the black pickup rings. The speed knobs were also a better choice that top hats IMO. Cool.

Santah
Thanks For a first guitar that is amazing.. Im a newb and trying to do some refinishing do you mind if i ask what kind of clear you used. It looks amazing! Thanks Steve I use an australian brand called White Knight for the primer, colour and clear coats. Work on the strat has stalled because I've been struck down by the flu. I was saying before I'd have it done by last Sunday, but it probally wont be done for another week or more now. GodBlessTexas
Sorry, I don't like it... I LOVE IT! The only guitar I ever bought new and kept for a while was a Gibson SG I back in 1994 when I graduated from High School. It has a special place in my heart and I had to sell it shortly after I got married in 1998 to a friend. I keep begging him to let me buy it back, but no dice yet. The black hardware and white perloid pickguard are nice touches too. GBT

Santah
It was either foil or conductive paint, and I didnt have any paint at the time.. so foil it was. It works fine. Edited May 6, 2006 by Santah
Setch
Someone told me recently that Epi inlays are not real; but they are painted on or something like that. Is that true? Epi headstock inlays are very thin pearl, cut out and glued to the headstock face, then 'buried' in very thick lacquer. These 'overlays' rather than inlays. brian d
I used aluminum foil on my godin and it works great. How did you adhere the aluminium foil to the cavity? How was it to solder to the foil? Any disadvantages to foil compared to copper shielding or paint on shielding? Thanks, Brian.
