We made this as a present for one of my customers who's guitar is very late. The finish/hardware matches his guitar and I know he is a pedal head so I'm hoping he will really enjoy it. Here's two videos of me messing around on bass just tweaking knobs and finding weird sounds. http://www.scottfrench.com/images/linked/pedal/MVI_2385.AVI http://www.scottfrench.com/images/linked/pedal/MVI_2386.AVI This is very nice, but can you resize the pics and re-load them again? Lietuvis
Interesting... I'm somewhat of a pedalhead myself. I like how it looks, but how good is the sound?(it's not too easy to tell from the video) What exactly did Ben put inside it? redwhiteandthemaple
Wicked! So what do you call this? It sounds like a whammy pedal with distortion.. I've seen Satriani use a similar effect on the G3 Tokyo and the bassist from VanHalen. Tre Cool!
toddler68
Nice! Love that sick green color... and the LED's. I'm digging the guitar in your avatar too. Got any other pics?

I have no idea what's in this thing. Basically when I dropped of Spencer's new guitar I got to check out another pedal Ben made and wanted to get something similar. This is what Ben came up with. I can ask him what the guts are all about but I don't know enough about this stuff to really get into it. I should point out the controls on the pedal are Volume Knob, Sensitivity Knob, EQ/Frequency Knob, Tone Switch, and Oscillator Sound Switch. Those clips were recorded with the volume around 2. orgmorg
I like how you do your initials in braille as a logo. Pretty slick
WezV
I like how i go to hipshots website and they have your bloody guitars on all the pictures for the baby grand bridge. That has to be as slick as it gets!! You see, i aint even sure which smiley qualifies for representing how i feel!
Hunter
It makes you sound like Buckethead. ;>_> That could be a good or bad thing... Edited April 20, 2006 by Hunter
verhoevenc
I like even more how in your section on WHY you use the brail logo, how it fits with your guitar company like mission statement thing. And yeah, the hipshot pics are how I found his site a while ago. I'm sure that's great free publicity. Chris
custom22
Looks very unique. I' mthinking about doing something of the sort. I'd be interested to know what is in it as well.

Scott French
Here's the guitar this pedal is going with. Hunter
That's really cool. The string clamps are a locking nut? I always figured it was something fancier than that. Anyway, it looks great. Good job.
verhoevenc
That's pretty smart to just use a floyd rose locking nut for a headless. Where'd you get the headless gear? At SOME point I want to make something headless, think it'd be cool. Also, that zero fret you have cause there's no real "nut" (cause that locking thing looks too far recessed to act as a proper nut) is that zero fret taller than the other frets or jsut the same size?? Man, I love the enlongated upper bout of your single cuts, teuffel did something similar that looked really good too. Man, I'm gunna have to start a cheap asia "Scott French" rip off factory hahahah Chris This is the bad boy! Headless as well? FUN! Scott French
I got the ABM headless gear from Allparts. It comes with a headpiece for double ball end strings but the customer wanted to be able to use normal strings. We ended up going with the locking floyd nut out of convenience. Teuffel does some neat stuff for sure.

Umm, ABM's headpieces (the one I have, and the others I've seen) can use double-ball strings, but also have allen-key setscrews that'll lock the strings in place. I use normal strings on my headless. Scott French
Umm, ABM's headpieces (the one I have, and the others I've seen) can use double-ball strings, but also have allen-key setscrews that'll lock the strings in place. I use normal strings on my headless. Hmmmmm, I never noticed. The customer mentioned wanting a floyd nut way before we ordered parts so when the headpiece came I took one look at it and tossed it in a box. It was too narrow and WAY too tall to match my neck profile anyway, but it is good to know they can use normal strings for future reference. I don't think I'd even build a neck anywhere close to those dimensions but it's good to have the facts straight. Thanks, mattia.
Nitefly SA
how much would one of those guitars set me back?
Jon
In a bass perspective, the guitar looks like Benavente meets Basslab. Hands down amazing. And the pedal should be dubbed the "Atari 2600".
Ben
how much would one of those guitars set me back? Theres a prices section on Scott's site: http://www.scottfrench.com/?m=Information&s=Prices If I ever come into a lot of money I'll buy one. I really like all your work Scott! verhoevenc
See, but the one problem with waht Ben said above is that there's one HUGE issue with Scott's work that no one has mentioned yet, and would make it so you didn't want to buy one..... Because you'd want to buy two! I don't think I could bring myself to order JUST a singlecut or JUST an SF3 from him.... I think I'd have to have both....
