Mike Looking good! Though remember Setch's advice from the last thread - bind the end of the fretboard the same way as you have the sides. Having heard that suggested, I keep picturing the board like that, and I think it would look a lot better. prs man
that looks cool love the woods you have there. I'm thinking of doing a neck through with curly walnut and maple.
Vince D
I like the body design you got there. And that is a really nice piece of mahogany for the body. What type of finsih are you plaing on puting on it? Vincent Edited August 23, 2006 by Vince D
Logical Frank
Beautiful. Love the shape, love the wood. The only thing I don't like is you said you'd use a chrome pickup ring... I would go all creme or maybe zebra. Let that fine wood speak for itself, no shiny metal. I think the string-through/TOM will look awesome though. Deadly Badger
looks awesome, I would have used a stcked knob, to keep it cleaner looking, I never liked having two knobs with a guitar that has one pick up, but thats just personal tatse, your guitar looks amazing so far, good work man! DanielM
looks nice, I found a nice piece of Padauk when I went for my Zebra, was seriously considering making a Padauk bass instead of zebra...

Mike Looking good! Though remember Setch's advice from the last thread - bind the end of the fretboard the same way as you have the sides. Having heard that suggested, I keep picturing the board like that, and I think it would look a lot better. Yes I remember his suggestion on binding the end of the fingerboard, and I knew somone would say something about it. But that is not the look I was going for on this guitar. If you notice the way the fingerboard sticks out past where the neck suports it. I was going for a violin vibe for the look. Maybe on my carved top neckthrough I will do the binding on the end...... The finsh will be natural, there is no way I would cover up this great wood....... Thanks for all the great feedback guys!!!!!!!!! toddler68
I am TOTALLY ripping off your wood combination for my next project. I especially like the thin layer between the body wood and the padauk. Really nice detail. What kind of wood is it, if I may ask?
