MikeB
i would be tempted to get one to tatally mod, but there are other mod-worthy guitars cheaply available...
9of7 X 3of2
Removing the Squire logo is the most important mod you can make Other than that, I would: Sharpen the horns Do some clever cutting to the headstock to make it less "Fender-ish" Put in a Hip Shot Trilogy Carve fake F-holes that look more like flames than "F's" Then finish it with a tribal looking translucent flame paint job to match the F-holes. True there are alot of cheap "mod worthy" guitar available, but there are so dame many parts and trinkets for Fender type guitars.
renablistic
the necks suck. But if your up to modding them ever once in a while, it's ok. They have just as much potential as any fender, you could do ANYTHING to them, and the base price is like 200 bucks!

krazyderek
my squire stagemaster (the one before the gay showmaster series) is usualy taken apart every couple of months, to try new electronics, so far i've; put on a floyd pro, new fingerboard and some bigger frets, emg's, clear pickguard, sanded the neck a bit and finished it in linseed oil, converted the screw in floyd nut to a bolt thru nut, dropped it at least 10 times, dinged it up and chipped a bit of paint off,
ryeisnotcool2
i voted very! all you gotta do is take it , lay it down, squirt lighter fluid on it then light it worship it and then smash it! then it would be cool!!!!!!!!!!! ha ha
Brian
Shoot you can even make a blast from the past with them Actually the neck is a Squire, the body is a Saga plugged Original style Red Bowling Ball anyone?

KILOWAT®
hi? i think squier guitars are fine guitars the only differences are = (the wood, pickups, the neck and the finish) tuners and bridges are not really important ... if i would buy a squier guitar,i will gust change the pickups with FENDER LACE-SENSOR pick ups....those pickups R.O.C.K !!!!! Devon Headen
I'd like to hear them too. I've heard they were a little underpowered though.
StratDudeDan
former squire before modding: even the headstock got redone for this one:
themikestro
Nothin' wrong with Squier guitars, especially the old silver series Strat models, I've got me a Jagmaster that cost me next to nothing and i'm constantly messing with it. It's a cheap, cool looking and easy playing budget wonderaxe!
Jehle
Considering that my Black strat is a Squire, I love 'em. I don't care much for most of the new ones that I've seen. Back in 83 when I got mine they were really close to that bog standard strats. Nowadays the pickups are really weak, and the wood is nowhere near the quality. They can be good guitars though. I'd buy another one if I didn't just build them now.
Rogviler
To each their own, but here's what I did with mine: Oh yeah, the mods... I chopped it, added some metal parts including an old oil pressure guage (just for looks), and finally refinished the body with spray-on textured bedliner.
