Belial Posted January 6, 2004 Report Share Posted January 6, 2004 i recently built a prs style guitar in 24.75 scale and all the strings intone correctly except the 3rd (G) string. i use a tuner to set it up but it always plays sharp. any ideas? john Posted January 6, 2004 Report Share Posted January 6, 2004 is it a solid g or a wound g ? because from my limited experience, a solid g(say a set of nines or tens) is an absolute disaster to get right, unless you have really high ratio tuners. what method did you use to intonate it btw? theQuestioneer Posted January 8, 2004 Report Share Posted January 8, 2004 ^lol the G on my strat style wouldn't intonate correctly, the saddle wouldnt move back far enough. i found that the saddle position screw was running into the edge of its cavity. i cut off the last 1/16 of an inch to make it work... may not help you if you have a dfiierent bridge, though.
