avengers63
Cherry is SUPER bright. With the mahogany neck, it should sound pretty lively. If you're going to leave to body natural, I advise leaving it in the sun whenever you're not working on it so the cherry can darken quicker. HuntinDoug
That is a beautiful guitar! I have about 150 BF of cherry that was harvested in 1960. Most of it is unuseable due to worm holes ect. I may dig some out now though....very nice.

avengers63
Did you take into consideration what the cherry will look like once it darkens when you picked out the color of the burst? I'm 99% postitive it's not going to be that deep of a contrast later on.
whalehazard
I wondered about that too, and it's what kept me from doing a burst on the cherry top I did, but I think it'll be an interesting experiment. Perhaps because the bursted edge is not opaque it will let enough UV through to darken the edge as well? I want to see it in a couple years. Maiden69
That piece of cherry is beautiful, if it wasnt for the little dark patch on the waist I would say it was perfect! And with the subtle "cherry burst" (not sunburst as there is no brown... or at least non discernible from those pics) looks great. http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=27373&view=findpost&p=495358

Cherry has not worked so it was a good test
