KnightroExpress
I think banana pirate is going to end up as an inlay at some point in my life.

KnightroExpress
That is way too cool! Further proof that EMGs sound like EMGs regardless of where you put them.

Them's fighting words. The age-old comparison of active pickups vs passive pickups mounted in garden tools will be the next battle ground in the Tonewood Debate.
KnightroExpress
That wasn't meant as a dig at EMG (haha see what I did there), they just seem to have that distinctive sound no matter where they are. I'm certainly not against active electronics, it's all about finding the right solution for your application.
2.5itim
That shovel video is just freaking awesome!! The wedge guitar is coming along lively! I can not wait till you get that headless guitar build going, I don't think I have seen one of your designs I haven't really liked yet!
KnightroExpress
I was originally going to wait until the limba guitar is done, but I just couldn't help myself. How about some Yucatan rosewood?
psikoT
Awesome piece of wood... can't wait to see the fretboard. EDIT: ok, I saw it, didn't remember... I was thinking that a maple fretboard would fits very well with that rosewood, but that one you got is even cooler.

I take it you've gone ahead with the Mera hardware?
KnightroExpress
Haha I knew you were messing around I haven't ordered the hardware from Mera yet, but I will as soon as I can. Psikot- I actually don't have a fretboard picked out for this one yet, but maple is on my short list of possibilities.
KnightroExpress
Mini update: just doing some fret crowning.
Prostheta
I guess it would be a good idea to give the wife her yoga mat back now, and go buy your own.
KnightroExpress
Haha I reimbursed her with a nicer one as soon as I sliced up her cheapo mat. I'm not that bad.

Prostheta
Got any opinions on that Bosch router table?
KnightroExpress
Yeah, it sucks. ...really though, it's functional if not exactly durable. In my short time at this shop, I've had to repair the height adjustment mechanism at least a half dozen times. I'd highly recommend something else, though if this is your only choice, it'll get the job done.
Prostheta
Hey, talking of belt edge sanders. I made the belt asplode this evening.
KnightroExpress
Dang! I watched another student do that last semester, he just about jumped out of his shoes. Nice base there, by the way.
Prostheta
I thought you'd notice that.
KnightroExpress
The frets on the limba guitar have been polished and I'm going to start the final sanding process in a bit. Pictures of sanding aren't very interesting though, so I'll spare you the loading times and take some pics pre- and post-finish. In the meantime, here's an update for the headless 8. I routed the channels for the truss rod and carbon fiber reinforcement bars. Thanks for taking a look!
SIMpleONe89
Very nice as always KnightroExpress! Question: which carbon fiber rods do you use? Are all carbon fiber rods the same? I found some really cheap ones on eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/5PCS-2mm-x-500mm-Round-Carbon-Fiber-Rods-Sticks-Bars-For-RC-Airplane-Matte-Pole-/161917803181?hash=item25b30d9aad:g:~20AAOSwcOFWbo5b as I can't find any suppliers that stock in here in down under.
