canuckguitarist
WHAT!?!?!900WATT?!?!?! Thats insane!!!
jbkim
Hmm... looks sketchy. Read reviews for the GA800 here. The price on the ebay auction's not very good, the same brand/model here for much less.
BLS
Avoid it. Its a lie. It may be someway rated at 900watts, but that dosent mean its loud. Porb sounds like crap also. Look around im sure you can better amps on ebay. But whats your budget, and what style of music do you mostly play?
keithb
If you tell us a bit about what kind of music you play, and what you want out of an amp, I'm sure that you'll get lots of recommendations
syxxstring
Remember when most manufacturers rate this stuf they use ILS power. If lightning strikes this amp it will actually pass this much power as it melts to a smoldering pile of rubble. Its easier to tell with tube amps but there's some debate there even. Mesa says my 2 el-84 is 22watts, the store I got it from says its closer to 30. My logic says 2 el-84s is 18 watts.
Ace
On a related tangent, you can go deaf quite well from a sonic impulse that has only 1 Watt of power but like I said...going out on a tangent so long ace
daveq
On a related tangent, you can go deaf quite well from a sonic impulse that has only 1 Watt of power but like I said...going out on a tangent Well, I'm interested - please continue.... How so? Is it a likely situation from a guitar amp?
Elton
i play just like heavy metal, punk rock sorta of stuff. the amp right now i have makes a popping noise when i palm mute, and it squeals when the volume is up to high. i was thinking i could somehow use the parts on my old amp and make the pyramid better??? or maybe i should just find a better amp lol
krazyderek
....If lightning strikes this amp it.... i can't beleive you said that, that's like saying "if you ever won the lottery you'd....." i hope you meant like a power surge that runs into the house
fidgec94
The Marshall MG range are good as an all-rounder practice amp, starting at 10w and up to 100w. They're nicely priced but still a beginners amp i would say. I have a MG15DFX and its done well.
lovekraft
This tells the tale: It's magic! It uses only 150 watts of A/C power, but puts out 900 watts at the output - must be cold-fusion powered! Talk about ILS power - but then Pyramid is a car audio company. BLS
If you play metal a 5150 would be a good choice, but i dont know your budget so ic ant really recommend much
