Primal
Okay, time for another update. I've been finishing my bass with Tru-Oil over the past week or so. I think it has about 7 coats on it. Please disregard the very attractive poster right beside my bass http://img34.photobucket.com/albums/v104/i...hing/front3.jpg http://img34.photobucket.com/albums/v104/i...hing/front2.jpg http://img34.photobucket.com/albums/v104/i...shing/neck1.jpg http://img34.photobucket.com/albums/v104/i...shing/back1.jpg http://img34.photobucket.com/albums/v104/i...shing/neck3.jpg http://img34.photobucket.com/albums/v104/i...g/headstock.jpg Tell me what you think. westhemann
it looks nice from what i can see...but it is quite hard to focus on the bass rather than the girl
Primal
Yea, I know. I guess I just get used to her being there all the time so I kind of forget on occasion.
loosetoe
LOVE the heel! If i build another instrument, im shooting for a heel like yours or one like this (in my dreams): I also like the maple tapers at the bottom of your neck. Class act. Are you pleased with the tru-oil so far? It's not my favorite oil finish, but it looks very nice here. -Wayne
Primal
I am loving tru-oil. It is is so easy to use and it only takes 2 hours to dry. Builds up pretty quickly, too.
spirit
Such beautiful curves. Oh, and the bass is nice too.

Maiden69
Great Bass you got there. I like the shape of the headstock, looks like the one Hetfield is using now, just without the arrow shape over it. Nice job....
Mahelcaya
Really nice piece of art ! That walnut is looking sharp is true oil the same as tung oil? is it a good finish product, I mean does it shield the wood from scratches?
Primal
Tru-oil is gun stock finish. You should be able to go to your nearest gun dealer and buy some. It's not so much an oil finish as it is a varnish. I really like it. I know Ernie Ball uses it on their guitar necks.
spirit
Whats the difference between tung and tru oils? Or should I ask in the Finsishing section?
