  1. I can show you some websites that may help. Sorry if you've already checked them >.< http://www.warmoth.com http://www.stewmac.com http://www.allparts.com http://www.carvin.com
  2. I love Iommi's sound, and riffage. In my opinion, it really doesn't matter how fast or slow you play, it depends on how you sound. All hands down, i think Iommi's sound has had the most influence on my sound than any other guitarist. If i could afford to put two of his pickups in my guitar, i would DEFINATELY do it. Even one in the bridge would be good enough for me. Too bad they don't sell the gold ones anymore though
  3. You should do what i do and write on the back of it with a pen
  4. I got my Dunlop Original Crybaby 535Q (Chrome Plated) for christmas at 70 dollars from Musicians Friend. I've yet to play a better one for my playing style (Metal, Rock, Classic Rock, Thrash)
  5. Nice collection o.O I've always wanted a 5 string. a 5 string version of the feather i ordered would be my dream bass I don't think i'd ever use the 5th string musically, but for me, it gives me a lot more comfort in playing having a wider neck, and that extra string as a stopper for my fingers while playing fast. It would also prevent me from coming down as hard on the E string. I don't see myself playing a 6 or 7 string though >.o
  6. Learning to relax while playing, and just letting the music take you. Its one of those things that many people learn after a great while. It'll also make your sound more unique, and pleasing sometimes. I wish i got to the point where i could do it again, but college has kept my guitaring time a little limited >.o
  7. isssssssss this it? http://www.seymourduncan.com/website/suppo...one-w-split.jpg If that's not it, i'm sure you can find it somewhere around here http://www.seymourduncan.com/website/suppo...chematics.shtml
  8. well like i said, i've never had personal experience with a chrome plated guitar, so i'd try one out first. It may be what you really want in a guitar. The ones on the Jackson forum were probably poorly made? *shrugs* I donno lol. The droptop Acrylic one sounds badass though
  9. Ozzy - Crazy Train, I'm Coming Home Iron Maiden - Number Of The Beast Slayer- Dead Skin Mask, Desciple(not the lyrics) Metallica - Everything Black, and before, and a few choice from the last 3 Black Sabbath - N.I.B., Snowblind, and one other that sounds like it has an asian style opening Prong - ?? I like "I'm coming Home" mostly because i heard it originaly on Weird Al's "the Night Santa Went Crazy" (same basic accoustic line), and when i heard it on the radio i was like "wow, that's ozzy!" I've always liked Number of the Beast. I'm still a beginner Maiden fan. I donno if i like em yet or not. Too happy sounding for me so far >.< Metallica is a world on its own. I can listen to that stuff when i'm sad and be up and jumpy within 15 minutes of Master of Puppets. NIB (the primus version featuring Ozzy, and Les Claypool on bass) is the first bass song i learned all the way through, bass solo and everything. And i can't play it on guitar. Its just fun to play. Snowblind just sounds awesome to me. I donno why. Annnnnnnnnnnd i'm afraid i don't know who Prong is either >.o
  10. I heard that the chroming process on wood wasn't very stable. On the jackson forums, i've read about chrome finishes flaking off easily, and not lasting long >.o I've also heard that it may dampen the sound. Now, this is only what i've heard. Not from personal experience. I would looooooove a chrome plated guitar for show
  11. Awesomely cool Thanks for making that branch Brian! It also gives me an initiative to work so i can show off my abilities in beginners luck But seriously, that was an awesome idea, and ya, my hats off to those who suggested it!
  12. I've been playing guitar for *counts* since October of 1999, and i'm too lazy to do the math lol. I started playing bass in 2001. Woo!
  13. Well if it hurts playing with it standing up, then you should do it sitting down... if ya know what i mean
  14. Actually, the SL3 is a Pro series guitar. I think its from Japan?
  15. yyyyyyyep, its a neck through. Its at the Music Mall in Manchester NH. If its already sold though, i'm sure there's another one somewhere. But yeah, that's the guitar that made me decide to put Hotrails, a JB, and an OFR in my RG250DX
  16. I just finished scalloping frets 11-22 on my GRX20, and strung it up. Never played a more comfortable neck in my life o.O I love the vibrato too! If i like it enough, i'll go ahead and do this to my bass, and my RG250DX
  17. oh... Well i'm still happy with what i got ^.^ that's all that matters to me. *thinks* If they come with pots... then i got ripped off at Earcraft last year when i bought my P/J set for my bass I got pots from David King (http://www.kingbass.com). He sent em for free, cuz he's a nice guy ^.^
  18. At Music Mall in NH, they have a used Jackson SL3, yellow-orange burst flame top, with an OFR in it, and HSS (JB, Hotrails, Hotrails). goes for 435 if that's not too far outside ur price range.
  19. Awesome Thanks a lot, i'll check that out. Much appreciated!
  20. I recommend a tune-o-matic string thru design. IMO, it looks better on a rhoads, and feels better.
  21. ummmmm i payed 200 for them... >.< Well i figured that since the EMG 81 and 85 cost around 130 dollars each, buying a set would cost a lil less, and come with pots, so that worked out I think it was worth it *shrugs* in some places i've seen it for 300, so i think i made out well
  22. Alrighty, cool thanks. I'll ask Drack just to make sure ^.^ Much appreciated!
  23. Wow o.O i finally got to look at this topic! pictures don't show up for some reason, so that sucks >.< Beautiful guitar dude! I love the LED inlays
