  1. this is completley random, but when did you become a mod ben?
  2. how are you planning on finishing this? natural?
  3. what kind of finish is that? looks great!
  4. can i ask why the pickup routs go all the way thru the body?
  5. well i have never used them on these type of guitars with the plugs. on some of my jacksons and on bc rich i worked on if you loostened it too much, it just unscrewed the nut and it diddnt do anything after that.
  6. if it is just turning with no action, it is probably adjusted in that direction all the way as far as it will go.
  7. most likley the same as other actives
  8. just to throw everyone off, i recorded something clean with it. watch out, my recording sucks and there are some notes that get really loud and fuzzy sounding, but it is the recording, i recorded it with a cheap mp3 player. http://h1.ripway.com/killemall1983/cleandiamondplate.WAV
  9. thanks j, you always seem to appreicate my stuff. thanks for the kind words.
  10. ebay never treated me good when i sold finished guitars. all of my guitars went up to like 19 bucks and things like that. stupid people tried to tell me that it wasnt worth 20 bucks. stupidest thing ive ever heard. 1 part on the whole guitar is worth more than that. it drives me insane. why people think that i will never know.
  11. finished! http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb262/k...ie/DCAM0058.jpg http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb262/k...ie/DCAM0055.jpg headstock: http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb262/k...ie/DCAM0056.jpg back http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb262/k...ie/DCAM0061.jpg http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb262/k...ie/DCAM0060.jpg http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb262/k.../DCAM0059-1.jpg http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb262/k...ie/DCAM0059.jpg i always seem to get mahogany with cool grain without even knowing. it almost looks flamed.
  12. with a little nut adjustment, and messing with the bridge, i got the action perfect. but it is wierd playing a 25.5 24 fret neck again compared to a 22 fret 24.75 neck. it feels like a bass compared to that. all finished now, i will post pics later. hope you guys dont critisise too much on the non matching design, but thats why i did it, it is difinitly 1 of 1.
  13. i think you will be fine. what kind of walnut are you using? i am positve it will be strong enough. i dont think you will have any problems.
  14. well what kind of auto paint did you use? all auto paint ive used cures harder than most stuff on the market. especially urathane. the only auto paint that isnt as hard is enamel.
  15. wow, i love it. and that is saying something. i am insanely picky about shape. nice and sharp, but not over the top.
  16. you know its always a stupid simple thing. thanks for reminding me about that greg. it was the input. works great now.
  17. that is cutting it extremly close. i have had trouble with 1 1/2" wood. i think the only way you are going to get away with that will be to put a top on it. especially for a prs or lp, wich are really thick because of the carve.
  18. what do you mean "trace the ground"? i am using the method of having all grounds going to one wire, then the wire to the main ground. i dont think i created a loop, because they are all going to one wire.
  19. i hate that so much. i want the strings even across the fretboard. you can get the action way lower without buzzing. the only way i have been able to do this is by having no neck angle, and recessing the bridge (tom)
  20. i just wired up 2 guitarheads pickups. non active. 1 volume 1 tone, 3 way toggle, basicly jackson style. i grounded the bridge (tom) and i still get horrible sound when i toutch the strings. like so bad you cant hear the actual sound of the guitar. but only on overdrive. you can still hear it on a clean setting, but not as bad. this usually happens when i am missing a ground, but never this bad. what do you think is wrong?
  21. the front done. dang you camera. it looks almost the same as the primer. you can see the metallic a little better on the headstock pic. http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb262/k...ie/DCAM0052.jpg
