  1. Working together. The only Phaser boards i've seen so far have been way out of my budget. So now i'll just sit and wait and see if i can get an old phaser pedal and convert that. This project has been pushed down my list a bit at the moment cos i havea lot of work on at the moment. >_<
  2. I've just priced up parts for a Fender Delxue (5e3) and its going to cost ~£250/$500. Might not be cheaper but its very entertaining to built through it!
  3. I'm looking for a Danelectro Back Talk Delay, willing to pay good money! There is one on ebay but thats in New Zealand and they don't accept paypal. Cheers Craig
  4. I can't really say as i'm no expert, but for what its worth, a lot of people have two 1x12 on top of each other rathter than have a 2x12 (including Paul Gilbert).
  5. For what its worth, my mates played the VOX and said some of its models are good, while others aren't even close.
  6. I can't see the voltage on the cap making any difference. I'd double check your wiring again and see if anything is being grounded that shouldn't be.
  7. I know you can get drop in phaser circuit boards, but would i be able to use that at the same time as the wah? I also want to set it up so that when the pedal is all the way down its off, rather than the DPDT. Any one got any tips on this?
  8. Good to see you getting yourself onboard Drak!! On a related note, i've just bought myself 3 Shure SM57s to record with...as well as a cheap 60s microphone copy. It'll sound crap, but i'm a sucker for chrome!
  9. Your best bet is to get a second hand one from ebay for cheap, gut it and use that.
  10. I'm no expert, but if an amp comes with EL34s chances are it will need BIASing for 6L6s. I know there are a few amps that can use both (the Laney GH50L for one) but they are few and fare between. Some amps do have a trimpot installed so all you have to go is find the right voltage and turn the trimpot to it, others are a little more complex and may require soldering of resistors. Even a 20watt valve amp is hard to push at reasonable volumes, i've got a 1/2watt valve amp and i can't turn that past 2 without it becoming over-loud. You might want to ask Wez about metal sounding amps. I know he likes loud (as in 100watt +, more head room) because he doesn't like the sound of power amps breaking up...all preference.
  11. I've just built myself a Gilmour Jr Kit. My next project is going to be a Fender Deluxe (5E3) Clone.
  12. I'm not a fan of these hi-tech gadgets. I'm a very old school person and get a slight satisfaction out of tuning my own guitar. Though i can see why it will appeal to other people.
  13. Congrats man. I've built a couple of BYOC pedals and i liked how they turned out. I've often thought about making a multiFX, or using a stereo cable to power onboard guitar fx.
  14. If worst case, you can probably buy one for about 2p.
  15. Well, if you do one, i'll take it off your hands! =P
  16. Those straps look pretty damn good. Any chance of seeing a Celtic styled one?
  17. I was expecting some awesome solo...instead i got a wall of noise.
  18. I've just built myself the Gilmour Jr. 1/2watt Kit and it does require some soldering skills. I totally agree with Wez and mikhailgtrski. Just because you have some soldering skill, doesn't mean you can go build yourself an amp out of thin air. It requires a lot of patience, time, planning and research.
  19. Do you have any pictures of the Cab and JCM all finished?
  20. I've just built myself the Gilmour Jr kit and my god, its still a loud amp.
  21. Yes, it is possible. Make sure that your new speaker cabs are wired correctly for the correct ohms rating for the AMP and the speakers are of the correct ohms rating to acheive that. Here are some sites with basic knowledge of speaker wiring. Link Link MK Those links are pure gold. Cheers for that MiKro!
  22. I use a DanElectro MOD7 7 string guitar with a H/S/S lipstick setup. Sounds awesome.
  23. Awesome project man. I'm just starting my Gilmour Jr kit as a starter project...then i want to make a 4watt. This has really inspired me to get on with it!
