  1. Beats me. That's an @Skullsession question. I do know he was recording through a Kemper, so the possibilities are endless. SR
  2. Wow, It's been a minute since I've been in here. I gave this guitar to my buddy Hook, @Skullsession here, to test drive and he did so and then some! He wrote a song that demoed a number of the sounds this guitar can produce with the P-rails in it, recorded it and hosted it so I could enjoy it and share it with you guys. Thanks James. SR SR
  3. You guys have pretty much covered this by now, but yes I go past 400. From there, 1500-12000 micromesh. Used with their foam pads, and judicious cleaning they don't burnish.....unless you want them to. I think burnishing often looks really good too. SR
  4. The handling also adds skin oil transfer. The higher sanding also increases reflectance, and the light scattering enhances the figure. SR
  5. Very cool Matt! Classy classy classy. SR
  6. Looks pretty stunning to me! SR
  7. My experience is the finer you sand it the more it pops and moves. SR
  8. Man, that is so disgustingly organized, I'd be afraid of getting sawdust on anything. How do you keep it that with with the zombies? Seriously impressive Stu. And I presume those great little projects were created right there....and everything was put back where it belonged? That's the part I struggle with. SR
  9. Nicely done Stu, very artistic! SR
  10. Thanks man! I guess that was a bit of a tease......a what if.... SR
  11. I've been working on tapering limbs and paying special attention to the junction of limbs. It is critical that the place the limbs come together is handled with delicacy and skill. Also, a glass top has been mentioned several times, and while this is not going to get one, I do have the ability to mock one up with some polycarbonate. SR
  12. Ah Matt, you are a devil for details. And damn if you don't pull them off brilliantly! This just keeps getting tastier. SR
  13. To be honest, it's surprising that I haven't seen that attempted before. And I'm surprised it never occurred to me either. The Fender headstock is begging for that, particularly the big CBS version. Thanks for sharing! SR
  14. I don't know if I never picked up on the fact that there are two of these in progress, or if I used to know and forgot while it was on the shelf. Either way, doubly impressive. SR
  15. I agree with Biz Matt. I could not have said it better myself! SR
  16. Loving it John. Also loved the rubbing of the headstock. You could frame that, it looks so artistic. SR
  17. That is what is so great about creating. You get to decide what it will be. Well, in my experience the work piece always has definite ideas about what it wants to be; we collaborate. We get to decide when it is right. I think that is way simpler than trying to re-create something that has been done before. SR
  18. Damn, there are a lot of details involved here. You've done a excellent job of keeping them tied together and harmonious. Looks great and I love the bridge! SR
  19. Happy New Years everyone! Here we go again. Are we all ready for another one? Well, whether we are or not, this is what we've got. One nice thing about trees, is as long as you don't go with straight lines, pretty much any shape of limbs are believable. these are finally approaching the roughed in stage. There is still lots of tweaking to do--fixing proportions, cleaning up edges and details and so on. But at least most of the unnecessary wood has been removed. Cheers! Scott
  20. Sorry Mike. I saw this before the holiday travels and thought it was a re-post. You are going to have to get down low to see the branches. This may be a table that sits on a table.... SR
  21. That's a stunning piece of wood. Goes great with that shape too. SR
