    There's also a very tiny change graphit in the nut will fix your problem. Just rub some #2 pencil in there.

    Unless you did some major work to give more area to have the neck attatch to, even if you could get it set, I don't see where it would change the tone much if you already have a tight bolt on joint.

    Most people I've seen use spoke shaves to shape the neck. If I'm ever gonna attempt that, I'll have to practice for sure...those things are hard to use. Or maybe I just need to get a new one. Mine's (Dad's) is really old.

    Too bad you can't get 3+3 and then do something to the top of it (a la tiny PRS headstock). It looks like it would be impossible to do 3+3 though, all the space is taken up.

    I'm a little more traditional with body designs, but you're the one building it. I personally prefer guitars that are made to play, and play well. Maybe later I'll do it just for the art, but I want a guitar I can beat the crap out of (or baby it (yeah right....Me beating a guitar)). I really do like the inlay designs, you're gonna have fun with those though.

    Baritone scale guitars (28-5/8" is a normal length) are made for lower tunings and fatter strings. Most of the time tuned to standard B I think?

    I'm scalloping (sp?) my Squier Strat right now. Frets 12-22 at least. 15-20 minutes per fret?? I wish. It's taken me about 45 minutes per fret (I've done 4-1/2) with a 5/8" file. I don't have a dremel tool, but if I like the feel of the scallop (never played one), I might buy a Dremel tool so I can go faster through frets 1-11.

    If you wanna be able to reach up there, you probably need a neck thru. I know the baritone scales that I've seen are 28 5/8", so you're pretty close as far as that's concerned. Wow...B is pretty low, I'm assuming you mean standard B? I'm thinking about a baritone too, so anyone with great insight would be appreciated.

    Ironworker? Awesome, I'm getting a forge up and going now...Too many hobbies starting and not enough nomey to go around! What kind of work do you do? Do any casting?

    Ok...I started stripping my Squier Strat w/ trem this afternoon, and I'm almost finished. Anyway, I'm using the heat gun method, so it's charred. I was gonna do a silverburst finish, but then I saw what it looked like with the char on the guitar, and I'm thinking sand it down and put a dark translucent finish on it. Maybe dark blue? There are pics below. (not quite finished stripping). Also, there is a crack that happened with I heated the guitar. There are also some gouges on the wood (oops ), and I was wondering what the best way to fill those in that wouldn't look bad under the clear finish (mind you the finish will probably be dark).

    Seems to me after it's done it'll be an accident waiting to happen...no matter where it lands if you drop it, you're gonna be screwed. Very cool design, though. Ever think of making it out of metal? You'd have to spend a bit of money to get a furnace, cope/drag for it, but that guitar metal would be really awesome...REALLY heavy, but awesome.
