  1. this is very sad news, I never knew blues either outside of this forum, but I did purchase my jackson (DD) from him, and he was a very big help to many of us here, he will be sorely missed, and may his soul rest in peace
  2. a simple search would have solved this, I must ask though do you even know how to calculate scale legnth?frankly installing a floyd is no amateur job
  3. I use acyrilic sheets, I buy them in 4' x 6' sections @ the home despot and use a dremel to cut out what I need, then go over them with a file and sandpaper until smooth
  4. its good to see some progress on this badboy, looks great so far, keep it up man, we need more 8's made!
  5. Honestly Im with perry on this, if your guitar's dont play as good or better then a US *insert guitar here* your not ready to sell them to customers, and on that note If any of us were in it for the money, we would be charging $5k+ for a bolt on single pickup guitar right? Personally I have built 5 guitars, GIVEN 3 of them to friends as gifts, destroyed 1 and am still working on the 5th to get it where I want it (this excludes the superstrat I have a thread for here) and I would not sell a single one of them for anything, honestly there not up to snuff, im getting better with my building, but I still have far too long to go before I even consider building a body for somebody
  6. amazing color man, I really like that explorer, chrome and white hardware would look awesome on it!
  7. Now this is something I have been waiting to see, me and a few others have tried to make the annihilator (I think deadmike? made one, Im still working on mine) but I never thought I would see a devestator, it looks awesome so far man, keep it up and definatly keep us posted!
  8. pm sent last night, Im in need of a g-major
  9. they are great truss rods and the only type I have used as well, just remember you cant go wire thin on your neck with them (made that mistake 5 times , live and learn)
  10. Well Im back from the ashes!!!! I realize I havent updated this page in FOREVER, but there isnt anything to update, I have been extremely busy with work and college so I have had very little time to work on the neck, as it stands right now, its been on my shelf since december, kinda sucks but what can ya do? luckily I get about 2 weeks off of school in about a month so Im going to put some serious time into it then!
  11. I think we all know how I feel about the author of that tutorial :D that being said it should be taken off the main page.
  12. looks slick, cant wait much longer for em to get done
  13. now come on folks the canadian government has apologized for bryan adams on several occasions
  14. I could do that for ya, it may take me a few days though man, there was some sanding and truing to do but all in all I got the scarf joint cut, sanded and glued in *about* and hour and a half, not to bad for me, but I dont work all that fast myself
  15. alright guys its been way too long since I updated this, the neck is sitting here with the proper scarf joint, truss rod is installed, as is the carbon fibre rods, the fretboard is tapered, but sadly my camera is busted so no pictures as of right now, Im working on getting a new one, and im hoping to have it and this neck done by january, so we will see how it pans out, sorry for not updating sooner!
  16. thats what has set me back updating my thread on my superstrat, I need a new camera!
  17. looks like im signing up for ebay, thank you guys soo much for the link, you just set my evo project forward!!!
  18. Why don't you build one yourself??? You might pick up some new skills along the way. ← I second this, as I am learning a lot building the neck on my superstrat go for it, you will save LOTS of money in the long run as well
  19. that is exactly what I expected, I was quoted for appox. 650 for an 8string baseplate/block when looking into putting one in my 8 looks amazing though.
  20. I'm an electrician dude! I will work up something next year, as soon as my schedule permits. Good to know I was able to help you out. Peace,Rich ← like I told you before, you are an awesome guy to work with and when you get set up again, you will hear from me!
  21. 11 string floyd rose!!!!!! thats right you heard me right an 11 STRING FLOYD ROSE!!!!!
  22. you could also send $35 to some dude who just takes your money and runs ← so true.....and unfortunate...but hey at least things are progressing now eh?
  23. is there any specific reason you want a tube preamp, you may want to check out a rocktron chameleon, as they are cheap (now) and sound absolutly incredible when paired with a tube poweramp, I have one in my rack and must say, I have NEVER needed to use more then about 70% of the gain available and I play melodic death/black/power/prog with it, you may be suprised.
  24. yeah its some heavy stuff like I said, not cheap either I might add
