  1. I find some decent stuff on ebay every now and then
  2. This black-bodied Jem prototype features an acrylic mirror veneer, mirror pickguard and pearloid binding. The reflective front of this prototype is crazed around the armrest area. Ibanez have since experimented with the reflective material considerably before perfecting the process of bending it over the curved section of the body. The fret markers are blue LED lights, and the headstock is installed with a red laser in the end. The guitar is also fitted with a Fernandes Sustainer - now commonplace in many of Steve's newer guitars.
  3. Tone Zones mostly as of late. In his PGM800 and 300 it is TZ's. In the new 301, it is LISTED as PAF Pros.
  4. Very nice MonkyBoy! As I was gonna post....I saw yours.......good job
  5. I have a Tone Zone 7 at home I am getting ready to install....let me see if I can' whip up a little diagram this evening. Most, if not all, Dimarzio's 7 string pups have a flat bottom. So for direct mounting, no need to route deeper for the mounting "ears" or tabs.
  6. I wasn't very impressed either.....resold it within a couple weeks. DS-1......bang for your buck
  7. That's just carpet....OH, you mean you graphics
  8. @^$*# Jeremy!! You make me want to spend more money! Those are just beautiful, bro!
  9. Just about any guitar shop stocks factory Fender and Gibson parts.
  10. Any sample pics? How thick is the coating?
  11. BINGO! From "Flying In A Blue Dream"
  12. Yeah, there are those, which are really cool and Quik Read Measuring Tapes. If you measure out 10 inches on the top reading, just look for the 10 on the bottom reading (which is under the 5) and that will be half. It works the other way, too. If something measures 13 on the top reading and you want to double that, just look at the number below the 13 and you will see 26. That means that 26 is double of 13
  13. I use a Rigid shop vac with additional hoses attached. Can be a little noisy, but it sucks....it really "sucks"
  14. I scaled an image to proper size and when I saved it as JPG, it ended up being over 5 meg. I will keep trying....
  15. Damn good question. I always read it as being the thickness of the neck and fretboard, without the fret. The fret adds it's own height.
  16. OK, ok Do you need all the dimensions on it?
  17. I've been using AutoCAD since version 1 (2 floppy disks: a boot and a run disk LOL!!). I prefer Mechanical Desktop (MDT) over ACAD and Inventor over MDT. I'm glad to help The Heel and headstock would then be added extrusions. Not seperate parts. After the heel is added, I would then add fillets. OR I would do add the heel in the same manner as how the neck was drawn. The headstock, I would create a sketch plane 13 degrees from the end of the locking nut area and extrude the shape of the headstock the necessary thickness, then fillet as needed. Either program can create whatever model you want. I choose Inventor simply because it is the easiest for me. With Inventor if is easy to rearrange the order of creation. Lets say you did this: 1. Body shape 2. Neck pocket 3. Fillet the body edges (but it won't let you) You can suppress the neck pocket (still there but not shown) Add the edge fillet Unsuppress the neck pocket Reorder the creation: 1. Body Shape 2. Fillet body edge 3. Neck pocket.
  18. You are not going to be able to fillet the edges of the body, it's too complex for autocad. You probably get an error message, right? That's ok, though....it's only 2.5.... For the neck try this (if you haven't already): Draw the profile of the neck at one end ofthe fretboard, then the profile of the neck at the other end. Then, do a loft or sweep. This way, you get the width of the fretboard, the thickness of the neck and the contoured shape of the back. Here is a crude example in Inventor. AutoCAD should have a similar feature....it's been a while since I used ACAD
  19. AlexVDL, What did you use to draw the shape of the body? That will dicatate why you can't put the 2.5mm edge radius. Also, it doesn't like trying to radius the neck pocket area. If you put the radius on the body first, then extrude the neck pocket, you'll have better chances And that looks fantastic!
