  2. yes the charvel i tried to chop an explorer pic too but it was retarted as is all my art work funny i can do a refret, rebuild a small block chevy tape your sheetrock and install a boatlift but drawing something ha ha now thats funny
  3. sounds like you have two problems 1.an 1/8 of an inch is not a lot of movement in the first place the block on all my floyds move over a 1/2" at full dump im not sure youll get that much on a standard trem but it should not be too much less 2.sounds like you dont have enough spring pressure how many springs and how much travel do they have to adjust them. or how long is the spring pocket from the bottom route? it should be around 5" in length giving you room to tighten the springs to pin or almost "block"the bridge
  4. i know everyone is always asking for plans or cad drawings ive searched this whole site since i joined and can find nothing ive tried doing my own and they all look more retarted than i do can anyone help me out? ill take any info other than draw it myself maybe i should start smoking pot again or get some ritilin than retarted would look kool thanks in advance
  5. line6 sounds great till it breaks im a member of that forum and i love how everyone says line 6 is the best ever and then their stuff breaks they call and get no customer support its just great sounding expensive junk that breaks alot and everyone in their rag on tube amps for the same reason FOOEY!
  6. check the jacks to your reverb tank
  7. thats Great can you do a kermit for me and if so how much
  8. dont know in anyone else read the whole ad but it says they are not a registerd user so super fabulos mystical sounding exqusite musical instrument is junk dont buy chinese products. if they are gonna flat out rip off peoples patents then boycott all their junk
  9. try looking on ebay for an aria pro zz ive owned two of them properly setup they play and sound great plus they are like $200 or less this link is for a bass version but they look identical http://cgi.ebay.com/vintage-ARIA-PRO-DELUX...1QQcmdZViewItem
  10. check the the polarity on the fuzz and then the power supply sounds like its reverse to me
  11. this is kinda the wrong site and definetly the wrong area
  12. here's my take on this and im not trying to be a dick! im still a newbie and i belive i only had one question and i belive it was about building a pin router if you ever look at the bottom and see my name as here "wich is quite often" im in hear reading everything i can find P.S wich is why i donate biweekly to the blues presence project ive read more usefull info on this site than any book i own i've built two whole guitars in like 10 years and i still play one Drak is correct in that it finds you. i'll never be the player i wana be but................. my guitars are a dream to play and i have a few freinds that only let me touch their guitars. what a compliment that came from my desire to be great not good but great at this im a better tech/repair person and its my passion more than playing i only reply to questions off of my direct knoledge so this makes this my ultimate knoledge to become Myka will take many years and many more so my suggestion is do like i did read every thread you can find and ill say again many thanks to brian for starting this site i feel at home here and its all to the credit of the fine people on this site
  13. if you make a shim then make it full size just shimming one end of the pocket can be bad news
  14. the thing with nockdown is the technique more than the material i dont think drywall mud is hard enough. and getting a finish into all the nooks and crannys will be next to imposible without destroying the texture. try this on some scrap..put on a rubber glove dip your fingers in some laquer and "flick" it on the scrap thus creating random size drops. keep checking to see if it is setup up with a toothpick "stick the toothpick in a drop and pull it out if its set up enough the laquer should stick up in the air like a little spike" now take a rubber squeege and lightly drag it across the tops of the dots if it is set up enough it should flatten the tops into the nockdown pattern if it is not it will just smear.like i said it is a technique and like all technique's it will take some time to get everything right
  15. basic'ly he's talking about a "Nockdown" finish in home aplications its just a basic joint compound mixed with a latex additive thats fed thru a special spraygun that produces dots a the wall of varying sizes. you let it setup a bit so its not to wet then drag a flat surface across the top of the dots nocking them down it makes a texture that resembles a 3d like lace fabric you could probably splater laquer let it setup and drag a putty knife across it and get almost the same effect dont know if thats the finish your talking about though http://www.drywallschool.com/textures.htm scroll down and youll see nockdown finishes
  16. Are you sure you have to recess the floyd? and if you had to only for up-pulls why not make a proper shim for the neck and give it the tilt it needs. i know i may get blasted for this suggetion. but why remove wood if you don't have to.as for the kahler i have seen some that were recessed but very few.it would all depend on your situation as in neck height-angle=saddle height
  17. I just got my stew-mac catalog last week i think this is a great tool and perfect for some aplications. while it might not be the right tool for everyone. if it could of worked on your buddy's guitar think of the money he would have saved not to mention it would still have its original parts but i also have had a neck that this would not have worked on i wish i had it the to at least try as its still cheaper than the replacment neck i bought
  18. first thing i must point out is nowhere did he say a tube amp second what use would a tube amp be with a 4" or smaller speaker i have heard the nano amp and its cool but not dangerous ive had my run in with burnt fingers and a pair of kliens that got a hole burnt in them.no i have not had the pleasure of a 480 volt zap. but i know a charged cap will kill you as far as experimenting with small circuits have fun but when you first mentioned different size speakers i thought you were talking 8"-10"-12" to a 15". and an amp with some power also i dont think walkman speakers will do anything but sizzle and a 2" will likely not sound to happy either not trying to burst your bubble but other than doing this for a first step in electronics i dont think youll gain much
  19. why not. as long as long impedance is correct you'll get lower lows from a 15" to higher mids from an 8" some people may not agree on this but look at home speakers where have woofers, mids and tweeters to produce a full spectrum of sound i can think of two manufacturers that make subs for guitar amps and acoustic ams use tweeters the only way to know if you like it is to try it just try to mach your drivers in the correct frequancy ranges and most importantly make sure your final impedance is correct
  20. ive used both and while i prefer a floyd the kahler is also a great unit now my pros and cons floyd upside..functions and feels more like a traditional trem locks strings at bridge. tuning more stable Kahler upside..string height is indavidualy adjustable no clipping the ball end and action remains the same except on extreme dives.bearing loaded fulcrum points= smooth operation Floyd downside...knife edges loose there edge in time. action is affected on all downward movment.intonation is a pain in the ass you must use shims to get desired radius other than standard 10-12" Kahler downside.. non locking saddles. feel is differant than a standard trem parts used to be hard to get. don't know if thats still the case bottom line..solder the noose at the ball end and the nonlocking saddles become a non issue on the kahler. the floyd does remain in tune better out of the box its all about feel thus the only reason i prefer the floyd the kahler in my opinion is a easier unit to set up and functions great i may try a kahler again as on paper is a better unit
  21. My 0.02$ would be if you bought the pickguard, the pickup, the switch and so fourth buy the router and template. you can get a router pretty cheap the bit is like $15 and the template is like $10 a cheap used or new router from harbor freight is like $30-$40 thats like $65 bucks and you get to use it again seems worth it to me. but its not my guitar but i would never touch my pride and joys without the proper tools as it would be like buying an expensive amp only to listen to it through headphones not a good use of money
  22. if you need it i have a peavey raptor neck ill give you to practice on. as it also needs plugs and i have no use for it. pay for shipping and its yours
