  1. Wasn't there this article a few weeks back of one of Satriani's former students who said that Hammett definitely was one of the scarier players in Joe's Guitar Dojo? I believe that, I only think he has found a style to play where he doesn't flash technique a lot and that's cool...still I remember seeing live clips from them and thinking "god that dude sucks"...I'm still not sure if he is a great guitar player or ont but he's been an influence to quite a few so I will not try and judge him. As for the Ouija Jem, that would be truly unique. I"d say go for it. so long ace
  2. Just to clear that up: The Peacock guitar was #750.000, the one with the angels playing guitars on the back is the #1.000.000 And Craig, I'm not surprised that Larry was your teacher, it kinda shows in your style, that comment I made was sincere. I think that's a good way of dividing the work...you do the natural scenes and he does the gods and angels Like you said, I cannot imagine how to invest the time for something like that even if you do it full-time. To me, that's a high form of Zen already. so long ace
  3. Welcome aboard Mike So what format(s) do you need the graphics to be if we supply the artwork? Corel, CAD or whatever? so long ace
  4. ...need to pick my jaw off the floor. I thought Clavin had done those inlays, tho ;-) so long ace
  5. Yay this looks cool, good catch Rick. I think I'm gonna try waterslide PC printing paper for my next headstock job and if it doesn't turn out like I want it I'll give the decal shop a call. so long ace
  6. Yep, I couldn't have said it better. It's ceramic so what we're talking here is a quartz crystal. The voltage generation comes from changes in the molecular structure of the crystal, causing the electrons that are affixed to the atoms in the "grid" structure to go out of their position, thereby generating an electrical field difference which is commonly known as voltage. if you have a cigarette lighter that doesn't have a fire stone it has a piezo element, when you push it hard enough the voltage is enough to give a little spark, which is used to light up the gas. (from the book of impressive but rather useless knowledge, author Andreas M. Schroeder...) so long ace
  7. That blue lacewood/snakeskin-like warlock is awesome. The others are too, especially that lava burst is incredible. Like Litchfield I hope you didn't thrash those like the one you showed in the other post, that was damn impressive, too and if you hadn't thrashed it I'd have liked to buy it from you like some others here so long ace
  8. I wonder why they don't just go the extra step and put another post on top of the post so long ace
  9. You've always been what they call a "special" kid, eh? so long ace

  11. I thought Dan had told you the admin code, no? so long ace
  12. www.paltalk.com download the software and check out the music section. You should find some rooms there. I have one too but I admit it's not been open too frequently in the past weeks. Weezerboy and Canuck are admins there and can open my room as well... so long ace
  13. THERE!!! HE SAID IT!!! Oh yeah, Classical Gas, I know that...everybody looks at you angry and you think "wow that smells classy"..oh wait a minute. Actually April come she will by Paul Simon is pretty fun to play on acoustic. Eric Johnson slips in a couple shred lines and in my version I knda exaggerate a few of them... so long ace

  15. Exactly, the limit is because of the speed the membrane needs to have to produce a frequency at a given amplitude. Say you have an amplitude of 2 centimeters (imagine a huge speaker) and you want to play a frequency of 4 kilohertZ, the membrane needs to move 2 centimeters forth and back multiplied with 4000, which is 16000 centimeters...in one second...and 4000 Hertz is not THAT much. so long ace
  16. I recently found an old Framus strat copy, the body WAS made of plastic... not too common tho, apart from the acrylic models BC Rich, Kramer and Sandberg make... welcome to the forum so long ace

  18. Dude did I misread that topic...one missing "s" can lead to interesting thoughts about stoners and whatnot. Great tutorial btw... so long ace

  20. Yeah keep away from the G-String, it's all there on the D-String 5 frets up... sorry, I had to but you DID intonate it? The intonation problems are most prevalent on the G-String, so perhaps you need a compensated nut like the earvana? so long ace

  22. That wold actually be a very good idea because it's hard to tell the pickups from one manufacturer apart. If you don't happen to be able to measure DC resistance where you're at, it's pretty impossible telling what the PU is and what it's gonna sound like... On the original topic, I like small pup logos but I think they don't appeal to the general public because non-guitarists tend to be quite clueless about Lace, Duncan, DiMarzio and whatnot... so long ace
  23. Verz cool BP, when my black strat body comes in I think I'll try this one on it! so long ace
  24. Yup those were on sale at the end of 2003 for 59,- also. Apart from that, sometimes there are cheap guitars on ebay, but a good one for cheap money is rare, to many people like us know about the 'Bay ;-) so long ace
