LGM Guitars
This is one of 2 piezo equipped Leviathans that should make their debut at NAMM in January. The top is 3/8" thick, the only down side to the compound curve arm rest is that I either need a 3/4" thick top to make the full cut, or I need to live with the mahogany coming through like it does on this one, fortunately, with the burst, you won't see that
mushy the shroom
Very nice. What did you use to highlight the figuring?
LGM Guitars
it's just dampened with water, that's the actual top, no enhancement outside of water, wait until it's 3D stained
mushy the shroom
Wow. May I ask where you purchased such a fine mass of celluloid?
82DeanZ
Boy, those Leviathans are sure growing on me. Beautiful top on that one. Nice work Jeremy. Best Regards, Mike.
LGM Guitars
Wow. May I ask where you purchased such a fine mass of celluloid? celluloid? that's a plastic dude LOL!! I got it from buzzsaw international actually, lake salvage quilted maple.
82DeanZ
I've always drooled over that lake salvaged stuff Buzzsaw sells. My only concern is how well the stuff will take a stain. Are you going to bleach the top before you stain? I guess you could always leave it natural and just clear coat it. Some of that salvaged stuff is pretty brown, although your piece isn't so much. Best Regards, Mike.

Drak
That is my absolute favorite type of figured Maple quilt, I call it sausage quilt or cigar quilt. I've got a piece I also got from Buzz about a year ago very similar to yours. Jeremy, I don't believe I've ever read your 'recipe' for staining quilted Maple. We all have our own ways, what's yours (step by step)? Those Leviathians are growing on me also. Very classy work mate.

Maiden69
Very nice Jeremy!! What color (burst) is it going to be! I was goin to coment on what you said about the arm rest but you answer right there, is it possible to bend a 3/8 top like a 1/4... I don't think it will conform to the angle yours is, but I was wondering incase I come across a nice 3/8 thick top as that one!
Jimm
Ahh, sorry. I got my d**m biology vocab words mixed up. Cellulose = Botany. Celluloid = Chemistry. Just thought I would pick nits

Just thought I would pick nits wouldn't botany be considered a branch of biology? biology is the study of life. botany is the study of plants. plants are alive. also picking nits. that top looks amazing. i can't wait to see it finished. I'll have to look into the Buzzsaw supply company. I really like the body style on your leviathan series ! What type of burst is it going to be?
