Mainly I'm thinking about the neck thru tutorial. It's a rather important one I feel. Now it's closed and the pictures disappeared. I searched the net for another 'how to build a neck thru guitar' but nothing really came up. Could you guys maybe hook me up?

I think we should put in some sort of perminent hosting on the tuts so that the pictures wont rely on other peoples sites etc. I realise that it would be alot of hassle for all the admin/mods so hows about someone starts a tutorial site that hosts allt he tutorials from her and we can link to them in our posts???

Just an idea.

Whilst we're on the subject, can we *please* remove Jeff Litchfields positively dangerous tutorial on adding a skunkstripe to a neck?

Come on Setch, there's no reason why you shouldnt blindly rout into an unstable, curved surface searching for a steel bar with a razor sharp cutter at 25,000 RPM. Whats not safe about that? :D

Indeed.

Of course, it obviously worked for Jeff, as evidenced by the before and after pictures.*

*provided, that is, you ignore the fact they're quite evidently different guitars.

my neck thru tutorial was unfortunately hosted on a site that went down, and the backup pics were on the computer that my wife took when she left...i will see if she still has the pics on there so i can put them on my new host and replace those pictures...

then if floyd rose will come out with that fixed speedloader bridge i will finish it

If you go the the very last post of the 5-string bass pictorial, you will see a link I posted to my new website listing most of the original pictures:

The first time I read that tutorial I had the feeling Jeff never actually performed the operation....

What's the problem? Just keep routing until you hit metal! :DB):D

And it's best to do it freehand if possible, the way REAL artisans do it. :D

I would offer to setup a kinda hosting area for all the tutorials, but I dunno how much bandwidth would be required. I know guitar building is quite an obscure hobby compared to most, but this site has one of the largest and best collections of tutorials and references around so I'm guessing it does get alot of traffic.

I'm a web developer myself, and I always like to lend a hand and help people with their sites if it's something I'm really interested in, and recently all I've been thinking about is how and when I'm gonna build my first guitar :D

OMFG! That is some crazy stuff. And to think that Litch was a mod here for a short time. I seriously think that the guy is very mentally ill. But hey, who am I to judge?

I'll make you guys a guitar. I'll have you popping wheelies with those guitars! Now who wants to send me money? LOL
