Setch
I voted chambered - I like the sounds I get, and I like the weight reduction too! That said, it'll depend on what you, or the client want - I'd make the same design solid in the blink of an eye if that's what the guy wants, since it's less work, and I always feel bad about fairly big areas of wood being converted into chips... rhoads56
thats just it, it aint for me or a client, just something i thought would be cool as a side project.
Marzocchi705
Chambered. If only to reduce weight, i do like a light guitar.
Pr3Va1L
I say solid... depends... Do you want to add f-holes? I don't like double cuts that have them... Looks ugly
Maiden69
I vote null. If it's just a side project, it really doesn't matter... If it was yours (and being a side project it can go either way, sell or keep) I would go for what you like! I haven't had the pleasure to play a chambered guitar, so tonaly I don't have an opinion, I do like the fact that they are lighter, but that's it. I'm debating on making a LP-PRS Santana shape like that too. But I think that I will wait until I decide what to do with my work before, since here the tools are limited, and I don't have the space to store anything... That is a nice neck too, very nice figure... Let's see that one finish soon!
loudandproud
beautiful peice of maple you got there!!!! i would give my left nut for that.

Maiden69
Did you post a pic before that's not there now! I guess I must haved missed it! Are you planing a carve like the Vine guitar? Or a more traditional LP-PRS carve?
rhoads56
Maiden, look up "sarcasm" in the dictionary Carve top... hmmm, i'll just do what i feel like on the day. mullmuzzler
Great looking wood... In fact, it is awsome! If I remember correctly, you showed that piece on the forum, didn't you? Chamber it, but leave out f-holes or whatever... And finish it in amber yellow fade... It'll look like million $! mullmuzzler |OSSMT
Curtis P
I thought he was going for a solid black? I said solid, only because i didnt like the sound of a chambered body, (well, the one i played) Curtis
Scott Rosenberger
I say multiple small chambers for weight reduction. Large chambers can give funky resonance sometimes
rhoads56
... And finish it in amber yellow fade... It'll look like million $! ← it will be blue
mullmuzzler
OK, blue is cool... BTW, I'd like to say that those two GG guitars in the contest topic are incredible! I don't know which one I'd take home if it had to be just one of them... What are sonic characteristics of that tiger myrtle top? How thick is it? mullmuzzler | OSSMT Edited December 28, 2005 by mullmuzzler
rhoads56
its a veneer. So, zero sonic characteristics You'll hear many many sound bytes from those guitars, give Graham a week or so to get stuck into them.
