t1r12003
Well, I've had my parts for a while, but no body to go with them Jackson maple/rosewood neck, shark fin inlays, angled headstock Evolution bridge PU Jazz neck PU Chrome Floyd I think I've decided on a solid oiled mahogany body, and more of a heavy metal shape. I would use 3 black speed knobs and a black 3-way switch. What do you guys think of these 3 options I've narrowed it down to? Ibanez Destroyer, Ibanez Iceman, or Hamer Scarab? Nitefly SA
Yes....Yes........NOOOOOO. That red guitar is the most hideous thing I've ever seen. The other two I say go for, I'd go with the Iceman simply because I have never seen a 7 string Iceman and it'd be cool to be the only one wielding such an ax. ElysianGuitars
that red one i think is cool, but maybe this one would be another option? i think these are incredibly cool, though might not be your style
t1r12003
That's sweet. The only thing is, since I'm keeping it natural oiled mahogany, I don't know how that shape would look unless painted. That's what I'm thinking about the Hamer (3rd pic) too. I'm leaning more and more towards the Destroyer, probably because I had a set neck Explorer that got the headstock broken off, and I've wanted another one for a while now. I'll keep everyone in the loop and post pics of the guitar being made.
Thoughtless 7
I'd go with the Iceman.

t1r12003
Here's a little work in Microsoft Paint to see what it would look like with my neck and bridge:

The 7 string neck I have isn't a reverse headstock. I've always liked the classic shapes like the Explorer, Destroyer, or Iceman. You win for best original metal guitars though! Desopolis
I really like that explorer... enough to say, that I may be building one for myself as my "rock" guitar..
t1r12003
My mistake Metal Matt, it was a reverse headstock Jackson neck I have. Here it is, quickly rough sanded and the neck pocket set. I traced the centerline crack with a pencil to keep things in line, so that's why it's enhanced in the pic. ElysianGuitars
are those normal tuners in a reverse headstock? they look way off.... They're just not tightened down so they're loose and don't look straight. i wasn't referring to how straight they were, they look like they are on the wrong side... westhemann
that red one i think is cool, but maybe this one would be another option? i think these are incredibly cool, though might not be your style these guitars do not balance well at all....that's why they are not made i think. i used to have one...impossible to play standing up,

Yeah they deffinetly look like regular right hand tuners put on a reverse headstock. Looks odd but if you dont mind then who cares, it's your guitar
t1r12003
I see what you mean. Actually, I need another set of tuners for another guitar, so I'll just buy left handed ones for this one to make them more balanced. Thanks!
