Kenny
well, i actually love it!, i think you could smooth it out a little, maybe make it look more like they were designed to be there but it adds that 3rd dimension (atleast on the 3rd body you posted)
anderekel
I like the scallops too, but I have to agree, they could extend up the horn some and taper off instead of just ending.
j. pierce
I really like the look of the sharp-edge scallop still natural popping out of the purple paint. It's very crisp.
killemall8
cool, thanks guys. i will be getting straight to work on the paint now.
killemall8
got one of them painted. it doesnt look as good in the pics as it does in real life. used blue/pink and blue/green marbilizer from house of kolor. http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb262/k...hangelv2001.jpg http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb262/k...hangelv2003.jpg
avengers63
So are these headed off to eBay?
killemall8
yep. i got a board of that poplar for 45 bucks, made 5 bodies, so i should end up ahead.
Bass-Man43
ON the front of the body did you mean to spray heavier in the middle of the body and then fade it out towards the edges?
killemall8
no, i did the deep blue in the middle, then i did a small burst wil deep green kind of like a burst. in real life it looks like the ocean, like the water where coral reefs are and all that good stuff. killemall8
finished this blue body. http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb262/k...alguitar004.jpg http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb262/k...alguitar009.jpg http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb262/k...alguitar006.jpg http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb262/k...alguitar005.jpg

Xanthus
The neck heel looks too sharp for me, but man oh man is that paint job nice. I want to go take a swim! You say you used blue/pink marbleizer? I don't see any pink in the pics. I hope you get some money for 'em on Ebay. They're really sharp! killemall8
i mixed the blue/pink marbilizer with the blue/green marbilizer. the blue and pink by itself looks just like pink mother of pearl. but for some reason as soon as you barley put some green/blue, it turns really deep water blue. thanks! killemall8
been a while since ive done anything. i just got back from my first ever vacation, and my first trip out of the state ever. i went to florida for 9 days with my girlfriend and her family. it was great. and i must say, in Florida, everything is made of nice wood. everywhere i went, i saw stuff made of lacewood, all kinds of figured and birdseye maple, and all that good stuff. but i just got started on a new soloist. this will be what the thread was originally started for, so its back on track. body
ihocky2
looking good so far. Is that a walnut stripe down the middle?
killemall8
thanks. sure is. the only reason its there is because the blank would not have been wide enough for the body.
