RestorationAD
Cavity is not big enough for the vintage breadboard I used to make the electronics user serviceable. I will have to rememdy this at some point.
RestorationAD
The new pickups for this one. Waiting on finish to dry and building the pickups.
Sancho Marino
I like it man, especially the horns with the slotted areas... Pretty dam cool
HuntinDoug
Very interesting... Cool design. I love the visible chambers. They would look really good painted black to match the pickups & other black parts. Good stuff!
RestorationAD
Thanks. It is not a final design just a first pass at some of my ideas... I still have many things to do with the design.
verhoevenc
This is right up my alley! Love the neck joint. The visible chambers are rockin'! Love just the "I'm doing whatever the **** I want" attitude of it. Chris
ScottR
Surprise! I too love the exposed slots in the cutaways. This thing has a post apocalyptic Mad Max vibe to it. SR
RestorationAD
On the next few passes at this I am adding more non-traditional materials and I am going to minimize some things. The idea is to keep moving towards modern race car chassis meets exotic woods.

KnightroExpress
I definitely get the exotic car vibe, especially with the carved/slotted chamber area. I'm excited to see more!
RestorationAD
Last we left I was pretty close to finishing the first prototype in the new series I am working on. Well I was not happy with the arm rest as it was not what I originally intended. You have to take risks to win. So here goes. No CNC just a pencil and some hand tools.Overkill. .25" Aluminum brackets.
RestorationAD
This will be a fine use of scraps...
RestorationAD
I had a vision for this one and it didn't go like I thought it would. Looks like a steak knife. Ironically this particular piece of aluminum and ebony was going to be a prop knife for my daughter's Halloween costume. I made her a really nice fake dagger a few years ago but it got lost. The piece of ebony was basically unusable because of the splits in it so epoxied it to a piece of aluminum with the intent of making her a new fake dagger. I decided to use it for the arm rest... not the best choice. Would have made a really slick dagger.
RestorationAD
Still working on the mounting system. I have to order a lot of screws and inserts and such to make this really work.
RestorationAD
Since the brackets are overkill I decided to make them lighter. This took a lot of work since I do not have a mill. Very painful hand work.
RestorationAD
Several hours later and another attempt at a proper arm rest. This once is scraps from an old top and a nice piece of garolite.
RestorationAD
Much closer to what I intended. Still have lots of issues to sort out.

RestorationAD
Time for some clear and oil for the wood.
sdshirtman
Looking good. Solid choice on replacing the steak knife handle. Are you going to polish the brackets when finished?
