  1. yes, electronic tuners. check buzzfeiten.com. it cites tuners, like the Korg DT-7, which suitable for use with BFTS equipped instruments. ← They recommend the Korg, but I think that you really just need an accurate tuner that will tell you how many cents off you are because with the system you have to tune the strings to slightly off prefect tune - This is just what I think I remember from reading about it before, I could be way off here.
  2. i'd be willing to bet that the tuning stability would suffer
  3. yea, nice site! Now I think that mine is an 1980 since the site said they switched to blackface cosmetics again in the middle of that year, and mine is silver. I also found out what the little number thats on the back control panel means - 0821 on mine. The first digits are the year backwards, and the last two are the week backwards. So, my amp is a 1980 made right around the middle of March.
  4. heres an example of a Meta thread, guys: http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=5316
  5. What does the pull out volume knob do, and was it exclusive to any years? I aks because i have a pro reverb and the volume knob pulls out, I'm pretty sure that it is an 82 but I don't know much about it. Everything about it (besides the speakers) looks exactly the same as your twin reverb.
  6. post those auctions when you get them up, would you? I'd like to see what you have, even though I know you have a ton of great stuff and it would be out of my price range.
  7. What are you selling the strat stuff for, Scott? If I remember correctly you bought those to build your father a strat?

    Audition

congratulations!!!! Any chance of some clips?
  9. looks to me like a fender jazzmaster
  10. No, but it essentially makes you're trem a fixed bridge kinda like the ibanez FX edge they use on the JS2000. It also gives you the option of returning to full trem use very quickly and easily.
  11. It doesn't have to 'repeat' what the higher strings are normally. It would probably be easier to have the string 5 half steps lower because that is what you would be used to for the bottom strings of the guitar
  12. How similar are the black backs to the custom custom? Edit - how about this bridge? Stew Mac

  14. just try to restrain yourself from throwing guitars at it
  15. though i haven't seen any up close to tell you what i think of them, i know that fender makes a few carved top teles like the 'Custom Telecaster FMT'
  16. an OFR will work, there will be a little room on the one side (without the bar) because the little wings aren't even on an OFR. You could use the Floyd Rose Pro also. http://jemsite.com/axes/htm_features/trems.htm , at the bottom
  17. He said in an earlier post that it does float just a bit, enough to go about a half step sharp. all i can think of that could be under the new cover are some cut springs, theres some real small ones on your bench. Is that all that will be covered on the new design? I think it definitely looks better, more stylish (not to say the original wasn't snazzy in it's own right)
  18. http://www.jemsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32654 heres a 2820 for sale from slovenia
  19. I feel the same way. I like the flames, but I think they would look better angled; my preference would be as if wind were blowing towards the tail of the guitar, with the flames about 30 degrees counterclockwise of where they are. Also, I think the black edges are good at the top half of the guitar, but i think that the bottom edge would look good if it were the same orangish color as the flames, then it looks like the flames are coming from somewhere But overall, that is still very, very nice looking. Is it a six or seven string? looks like a six to me...
  20. all you should have to do with fullservesite is take the /members out, but they still don't work after that... you may just want to try another site, like photobucket or imageshack you should make them into .jpg instead of .bmp, they take up a lot less space that way
  21. I am almost positive that the only color you would want as a base for swirling is white. Otherwise you won't get the swirled colors to come out true, they will be altered by the base showing from underneath.
  22. That vine is the same as the one on the RG8670, and I think there are a few guys on Jemsite who have them. They might be able to take some close up pictures for you if you are looking to make one similar. You can also import an 8670 from http://www.ishibashi.co.jp
  23. fanned frets are a way to incorporate different scale lengths into one instrument. For example, the low E might have a 27" scale to keep it nice and taught but the high e could have a 24" to satisfy all of your bending desires. To do this, the frets aren't parallel to eachother, they look kind of like one of those Japanese paper fans. I think they usually make it with the 12th fret perpendicular to the strings, but if you wanted to use a tune-o-matic couldn't you make that perpendicular instead? Almost like you just use the half of the neck towards the headstock?
  24. that is a real beauty! great work LGM, and congrats to Jammy
