  1. Ahh sweet thanks, I'm in Melbourne but I'll have to give those guys a buzz as there's not much in the way of timber down here. Kenny's right, GOTM it.
  2. Davo from Downunder, it doesn't get much more Australian than that. And first builds don't usually look this great! Where'd you source all that timber? I'm looking locally lately because of what happened to our dollar.
  3. You could try LMI they ship internationally. You can ask them for a quote before they ship your order, or you could email them I'm sure they'd be happy to give you an estimate. They have amazing top woods and fingerboards. BTW that's a nice guitar Wez.
  4. Great work! I like to see a unique take off a common guitar. My 2 cents about the pickup rings: Get rid of them all together and directly mount the pickups. It'd look very clean like the rest of the guitar. Just a thought anyways, nice guitar.
  5. Cool telecaster/stratocaster hybrid. You could mix the names together and get telecaster.... hang on. No.
  6. You're a lucky man dej! the top is just stunning. And with woods like that AND that huge set neck tenon it's going to soud awesome.
  7. Nice flame top, very distinctive. Is there a "player" sound hole or no soundhole at all? I didn't grain fill on my first either, there will always be 'things for next time'. At the bottom of the picture page it says I can order a mug with the guitar on it. It's a nice guitar, but no mug for me
  8. Love white tele's, looks good so far. Binding's a nice touch.
  9. Really digging the layout of the ferrules. Great tele, it's hard to keep them fresh and original after all these years but you've succeeded. But why two switches? What do they do?
  10. Welcome to PG Southbound. I'm guessing with a name and picture like that you're a Tassie man, yes? Graphite and carbon fibre are ussually used as truss rod "helpers". In other words you inlay two graphite rods either side of the truss rod. This is mainly because graphite ruins tools due to its ridiculous strength. If you have sharp, high quality tools, it can definatly be done. There are major bonuses with graphite though, depending on how thick the skunk stripe is, you may not even need a truss rod.
  11. No way! The work looks way too good You're making me want to do an RG, I'll have to sooner or later, being a shredder it's inevitable! Can't wait to see the swirl.
  12. The body shaping looks great! I see what you mean about the trem cavity, but hey, nobody's gonna see it with all the hardware in. Truely a PRS to shred on. Keep it up!
  13. YES! EPIC WIN! Love it! Nice paint, it's pretty cool that you got house of kolor paint. It's out of the question for most of us seeing as it's sold in automotive quantities.
  14. You're making John Petrucci jealous with the blue one. And you're making me jealous with the mahogany one.
  15. I love it. It's not "pretty" but neither is Rock 'n' Roll!
  16. That's aweome! Really digging the overall vibe it gives out. Did you add a slight purple stain to the purple heart? It looks very, well purple, or is it just very purple purple heat? Purple.
  17. Well the action would not be the best. That is if the Floyed and the TRS have the same post spacing, if not it wouldn't even fit, but I'm sure you have already looked at this There are other options, like an ibanez trem, one of the better ones preferably. Try http://www.ibanezrules.com/parts.htm for an Ibanez trem.
  18. I got a can of plasticote on the table next to me for my RR project
  19. Oh yes! Looks way to cool to be a side project. Did you use a rasp or a chamfer bit for the bevels?
  20. I'm glad to see this one finished, I really like the green. I see it's in GOTM, and rightly so, stiff competition though. Ormsby guitars' multiscale 8 string is in there so I'm hesitant to vote.
  21. Was this one in Australian Guitar? Or am I imagining things? 24 fret explorers don't come along very often, especially ones as good looking as this.
  22. That's an awesome rossette, I don't blame your friend for wanting to buy it.
  23. I love the finish! But it may be because I leave the house every morning in 2 kilos of shiny black leather Wish my first ended up this good. Top job!
  24. That's metal! Colour combos are great, you've really "struck a chord" with this design It is going to have 24 frets isn't it??
  25. Yeah I was wondering about the copper thickness too. It's such a cool guitar. Those mother-buckers are four single coils in one humbucker housing aren't they? It's insane, but then again this is not your average guitar! Nice work.
