silvertonessuckbutigotone
hey silvertonessuckbutigotone, what type of laquer and poly did you use? how much did you apply? thanks i didnt do one, sry, but im actually thinking about it. another question, do i actually need to take the doughnut off, or could i just leave it on and do the work, because the clear coat i used to refinish my guitar recently is very delicate and chips easy, could i just leave it on?? oh and another one: James (rhythm) /Kirk (treble) <-- get it? Since james hetfeild is the rhythm, and kirk is lead...

butnut
It only takes a minute to take off the donut. The lettering transfer sheet needs to lay flat on it also.
silvertonessuckbutigotone
well mines glued on, and when I refinished my guitar I just left it on, but masked over it, could I just take the switch out and do everything from there? GregP
Shrill / Muddy was my favourite, along with Canada / USA; the former had more wit, but the latter is something we Canucks would get a kick out of. If/when I do my dad's LP, I'm going to make a custom doughnut for sure... it's weird how there's a simple mod like this that I'd never even thought of before. a.k.a. i-d-i-o-t
Hi guys - some more suggestions by me: order - chaos seek - destroy pepsi - coke platonic - plutonic jekyll - hyde brain - balls and my favorite: red pill - blue pill Anyone ever thought of building a matrix-style guitar? Just imagine: complete black with these green symbol lines on the body and the head, neon green binding !!!! - and green LEDs as fretboard dots!! That would look awesome - perhaps I should make one by myself, but if you like the idea - feel free to give it a try!
westhemann
Anyone ever thought of building a matrix-style guitar? Just imagine: complete black with these green symbol lines on the body and the head, neon green binding !!!! - and green LEDs as fretboard dots!! that is a very interesting idea...absolutely no blue whatsoever...and instead of led's use the red and blue pills for inlay.... use thin black patent leather for the finish instead of paint... but i feel like a nerd(star trek geek style) just thinking about it it could go 2 ways...itcould be cool as hell or incredibly cheesy
Neon_Knightmare
Wow, ancient thread. I'm actually thinking of doing this on my BC Rich Bich project -- got the donuts coming from StewMac. I'm mulling over: Naughty/Nice Blood/Guts (For those of you who ever owned a DOD FX-86) Fire/BAD!!! (See http://www.campchaos.com and look for the Metallica "Napster BAD" cartoon) Don't/Die (First step to survival) Some others I'm surprised never popped up: Whips/Chains Leather/Lace Hack/Slash Slash/Izzy Aces/Deuces ...? *prepares to get flamed for reviving a 6-month-old thread that had finally died*

Neon_Knightmare
where can i buy some of these custom toggle plates? ← As for already customized, couldn't tell ya. But StewMac ( http://www.stewmac.com ) sells unmodded ones. Butnut goes into it a bit back on page 2. I'm personally going to try it with a Testors model decal kit and an enamel clear coat. Ace
I really like the "whips/chains", "Yin/Yang" and "red pill/blue pill" ideas. Here's a couple of mine: How about introducing some quantum physics with "Truth/Beauty" Others, some kinda philosophical Bow/Arrow Images/Words Tooth/Nail Impulse/Direction (for those Heisenberg fans out there) Boom/Bang Inhale/Exhale Time/Space Angels/Demons (höly, unhöly) Cowboy/Indian Heart/Soul Body/Mind Ascend/Transcend Them/Us Army/Navy (Yvan Eht Nioj) Kick/Punch Kick/Scream Cosmo/Martini Axe/Hammer Burn/Smolder Thunder/Lightning Joe/Steve T1t$/A$$ Rip/Tear so long ace (digging the idea)
