Jehle
I thought that there could be enough interest in this so that it deserved its own thread. Link to my original suggestion here... http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.ph...ic=10971&st=159 Basically, I think it would be cool to have a Project Guitar tshirt. With all of the changes that we are going under, and with the urge to take Project Guitar to the next level, I think a cool tshirt would be a great advertisement for the site. I also think it would be a great kudo for anyone that's a dedicated member of the site as well. I'd certainly wear one with pride. Project Guitar doesn't really have a logo, at least nothing beyond the words "Project Guitar" as they appear on the main site. If Brian has no objections, perhaps we could start drawing up some ideas for PGTee. What do y'all think? Quote Link to comment
weezerboy
your best bet would be to sponsor a competion at www.worth1000.com you will get some frankly amazing results Quote Link to comment

Simo
I used to do a bit of work as a freelance cartoonist, I'd be happy to do some artwork for free if needed. Quote Link to comment
Setch
I'd be happy to help out with artwork too... and I'd be interested to see some of you work Simo - I've done a little bit of comic book work, but I've drawn much less since I graduated. Some examples of my work, including my comic book. Quote Link to comment
Maiden69
I think it is a very cool Idea, and to keep the cost down there can be a deal with the PG sponsors and sell a little bit of realstate on the back of the shirts to put some advertisement. Quote Link to comment
Jehle
comic book Fixed that link. Looks good! Quote Link to comment
Simo
Wooah nice work Setch! are you a fan of Robert Crumb by any chance? I'm very rusty, I haven't drawn much in last couple of years. At one point I wanted to do it full time but then I realised that the only thing I was good at drawing were guys with guitars Quote Link to comment
sscovill
I have some connections with a t-shirt print shop here in Denver and would be happy to get a quote from them when we get to that point. Let me know if I can help! Steve Quote Link to comment
Lex Luthier
There's one HERE too, started by Brian. I wonder what happened, it sounded like he was about to order some. Quote Link to comment
Jehle
There's one HERE too, started by Brian. I wonder what happened, it sounded like he was about to order some. And so I just bumped that one and cross referenced this thread. I still think it's a great idea. Any ideas for what should go on the Tee? Brian? Kevan? Simon? Theadore? Alvin? Alvin? ALVIN?! Brian
Could get a contest on the third batch as the first one is done and gone and the second one is in the works. They have this logo on them If you'll notice the Guidence was spelled wrong for the first batch and has been corrected on the second set, also they say Project Guitar.com instead of the following website. My friend Darren is printing them and lives in Pensacola which of course is being threatened by Ivan at the moment . Quote Link to comment
sscovill
Sweet. I like that a lot. What color are the shirts? When are they available and how much will they cost? Quote Link to comment
skibum5545
My vote would be for a small Projectguitar logo (plus slogan "where internet goes to work...etc.") in orange and white on black for the front (on the pocket area), and the words SEARCH FIRST, done up in the Project Guitar logo font on the back in REALLY big lettering. I don't know what font it is, if any in particular, so a graphic designer would be in order for that one. And these things could be made for probably $15 each including tshirts, so if they sold fo $20 or $25, they'd be a huge profit source for the site. Quote Link to comment
Lex Luthier
and the words SEARCH FIRST, done up in the Project Guitar logo font on the back in REALLY big lettering. Are you serious? I would be perfectly happy with this: My PG shirt design. Here it is in action. Quote Link to comment
skibum5545
Stylish! Actually, I was serious about the "search first" thing. Seeing as the PG shirts will be meaningless to more or less anyone who sees them anyway, we might as well have an inside joke on them, right? Hey, maybe it's a lame idea. What do I know? That's why we discuss these things. Quote Link to comment

I would be perfectly happy with this: My PG shirt design. Here it is in action. That's actually really nice. Very to the point. The only thing I might add is the www.projectguitar.com web addy on there some place. Perhaps under "Where the ... on guitars" line in the same font. The only potential problem with the design is that black tees with lighter lettering cost more to produce. Oh, and spell check is critical! I nearly ordered a batch of CD's with a HUGE TYPO! Thank goodness I caught it in time. I'd post the design before printing it just to let some extra eyes review it just to be sure. Glad to see that this idea isn't dead yet. I think it's really a good idea, and a great way to show support for the site. Quote Link to comment
sscovill
I really like the PG-rating thing. However, would it be better, instead of saying Parental Guidance, to instead put Project Guitar. I'd like to have this printed in white on the back of black t-shirt and then just have www.projectguitar.com printed in white on the front on the left pocket "area." What do you think? Perhaps under "Where the ... on guitars" line in the same font. http://www.projectguitar.com/images/logo.gif Well, there's our logo; how bout just the addy on the front on the pocket area, and the whole thing in a large size on the back? I'm sure people will pay what it costs for the light on dark printing. Unless it's completely absurd, I don't think that will make any difference. Quote Link to comment
Jehle
Well the logo is the web addy. So there's really nothing to add. Doi! Quote Link to comment
skibum5545
Sorry for not being clear. What I meant was -just-the address on the fron in small lettering, and then the address and the slogan "where the internet...guitars" on the back. Quote Link to comment
