Briand
Here is what the strap will be made from. It’s an actual seatbelt from a FedEx truck. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...tbeltstrap1.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...tbeltstrap2.jpg
Briand
i hate fedex with a passion. they break guitars and deny claims for no reason. court will be fun. ← Sorry to hear about that. Hope all goes well for you. ← Still sorry to hear that.
i-j-c
I think it looks awesome and very nicely executed. Remminds me of OCC and their themed choppers..like the one for snap-on - a guitar...well that's a first. Congrats man...tidy work and good thought put into it.. bluespresence
Very nice! I like the seatbelt strap idea. Curtis P
no, your bashing fed ex, and how they ship their guitars, its not harsh at all, in my eyes at least. Thats a pretty nifty lookin git box there, i am sure it would look good hanging on a wall in a museum, or, look good hanging on the wall in my room Curtis

Keep the thread on guitars and keep your opinions in the off topic section. ← you're gonna ban me from the site for talking about fedex and guitars in a fedex-guitar thread? man, thats harsh ← Read it again....I said you'd get a 2 week vacation. I also never said you couldn't bash FedEx....I said keep it in the off topic section. Now, am I harsh or do you need to re-read and comment again? I never mentioned the word "ban" in my reply. We have all had problems with shippers but to drag that into a thread about a guitar on progress is not appropriate. Comment on the guitar and keep your off topic comments to yourself or post them in the off topics section. If you want to reply to this take it to PM. We are done clogging up Brian's post with this garbage.

Briand
Nice guitar BrianD, neat concept, and great build. How heavy is that thing though? ← Juuuuust under 6lbs. That is a good point to talk about. I give you 6 PG points. As I was drawing it out I started think man this thing (swamp ash) is going to be heavy. So I went to the driving rang and after I hit about ten balls it hit me. I will cut out an arrow that will knock some weight off. Then the bottom half of the guitar started casing some design problems. Where are the toggles, express and the clocks going to go? It started out with several digital clocks for different time zones and the express was at the front with the lower arrow. I could not figure out how to smoothly flow the express into the arrow. So I straitened out the toggles into a line and moved the express under the toggles. Then the clocks caused me one day of you piece of &*$#!! Then the next day I was looking at it and my bride came in (she new of the problem) and looked at me and I said the “the world on time but the guitar is not”. So she said how about a world clock you know the slogan “the world on time” and I said yea that’s it and she held out her hand. What do you know, she had the finishing touch in her hand. I am the luckiest man alive.
Briand
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...-20-05_1251.jpg Taking a little break from working on the neck today. I put the bridge on and started to wire up the pups. What do you know three of the toggles are wrong type all six are on/off I need three of them to be on/off/on. Not to worry I ordered three on/off/on toggles, should be here in two-three days.
blakeish
Hey, this thread has it all, flaming hot original guitar design and construction, off topic flaming posts, and even a bus with flames, who'd have thought? anyhow, That guitar looks amazing to me, I'm always fascinated by such radical designs! Really neat, seriously. I will say I enjoy the color scheme of UPS myself, heh heh. I didn't notice if it's been asked yet, but that guitar looks a bit beefy/ heavy to hold? what's it weigh in at?
