I'm kinda boared of my guitar and i want to buy a METAL e-guitar... i tryed two guitars that i like so much the IBANEZ jem777 (steve vai) and an ESP horizon custom... i like the sound of both guitars but, i need some help of the experts ... well thanks for reading!! bye Quote Link to comment
jammy
Ibanez, IMO. I own 4 guitars, 3 of them ibanez. Quote Link to comment
Guest AlexVDL
ESP horizon ---> better woods, better sound (IMO, because I like les pauls, and the horizon custom is made from mahogany and maple, the ibanez just from crappy basswood) But, the Ibanez looks cooler and it's more of a shredder!! MikeB
ibanez!!! such good guitars. the neck joints are especially good, contoured etc... Quote Link to comment
ultraman
but the problem is the little crack in the paint at neck joint... mines already starting to crack... only a couple months old its not only in the jems Quote Link to comment
westhemann
i like th horizon...like alex said, better woods..and they are just as easy to play... Quote Link to comment
Pushead
I've never had a good experience with Ibanez. I've owned 3, all mid to high range guitars, and all of them had less-than-acceptable hardware. Tuners strip out, bridge shifts, or crappy pickups . I own 2 ESPs right now, and havn't had any problems with them. Quote Link to comment
canuckguitarist
i like ibanez's but if I had to choose from these 2 I'd go with the horizon Quote Link to comment
krazyderek
ESP, better all round pickups, better woods for metal, and it's got that neat carved cut away Quote Link to comment
krazyderek
oh and the ESP has neck thru!!!! so the heel probably isn't a concern anymore, definitly esp dude!!!! Quote Link to comment

GuitarMaestro
Dont trust other people's opinions. Buy the guitar YOU like more. Only because I would rather buy the Ibanez does not mean that it is the better guitar for you. Let your ears and fingers decide.... Quote Link to comment

Brian
Well I can honestly say I didn't even read this thread but I already know who won, Both of them. It's like Ford and Chevy, there will always be a Mustang group and always a Camaro group and they will always butt heads but in the long run both sell so the winner is the company's making them Quote Link to comment

Alchool
I would buy an ESP. Quote Link to comment
darren wilson
On production instruments, ESP and Ibanez are very close... it becomes a matter of personal preference. They're both very good. One big difference, though, is that ESP has a true custom shop that anyone can order from. You can get *exactly* the guitar you want from ESP (for a price) whereas Ibanez will only make custom guitars for endorsed artists. Quote Link to comment

Scott Rosenberger
I was an Ibanez fanatic at one time. but if given the choice between the 2 I'd go for the ESP. I have an MIII and I wouldn't trade it for the world. The neck is the absolute perfect profile for me. In fact I love the neck profile so much it's made me dislike the flatter backed necks like the Ibanez. Bottom line get which is the most comfortable for you, both physically and tone wise because no matter what anyone else (myself included) says you're the one who has to play it Quote Link to comment
westhemann
i withdraw my reccomendation of esp after what they did to hanneman's sig Quote Link to comment
