KnightroExpress
Final assembly is underway! Lining up the tuners. Gotoh hardtail. So simple, so good. Dropped in the wiring harness and got the jack hooked up. That last one is extremely green for some reason. The actual color is only slightly more green than the blue that most of these photos show. So there it is! This will definitely be done by the end of the week! Edited February 10, 2015 by KnightroExpress
bassplr19
So I wasn't digging the color at first but the more I see, the sexier that guitar is looking!
KnightroExpress
Thanks! I'll admit that it's more blue than I was originally aiming for, but I like it too
Chuck_Chill-Out
Very nice guitar. Set it up and let's hear some sound!
KnightroExpress
Good news everyone! Seriously though, I got my guitar all wired up, assembled, and tested! Pickups direct mounted and soldered in. Cutting the initial string slots. Neck screws! Assembled and strung up. Everything was tested and verified working, so it's on to final setup. I'll do a little video and stuff after I get her graded and brought home. Thanks for looking!
ScottR
Lookin' sweet! How does she feel? Are you going to get away without string trees? SR
KnightroExpress
Thank you! This guitar is incredibly comfortable to hold and play- the body just seems to meld with you. The neck feels good too, it's ~0.800" at the 1st fret and has the shoulder blended, so it feels like a slightly thinner version of an older Strat neck. I'll be better able to give playing impressions once it's all set up. And no... unfortunately, I had to install a tree. This design is meant to have an angled headstock, and I think it'll look better without the tree.

SwedishLuthier
Looking really nice. Not my personal choice for colour, but hey, its your guitar. Congrats on a really nice build

ScottR
I like the shots in front of the tree in your GOTM post. SR
Prostheta
Whilst not my choice of colour (I would name it "unreasonably green and debatably blue") that is a fine guitar. Clean, straight down the line and good to go. Love it.
Pestvic
does the string tree on the low end string help create a nice tension? Looking to maybe use one for 7 strings
KnightroExpress
In this case, the tree just gives enough downward pressure to keep the low strings from jumping out of the nut. I had to use it because of the non-angled headstock on this guitar.

103801061982
This guitar looks great. Seafoam along with daphne blue is pretty much my favourite solid colour finish for guitars. How do you find the Hiroshima nut files? I bought a set of these a while back, but have got to using them yet.
KnightroExpress
Thanks guys I like the gauged nut files a lot, having a specific tool for each string really appeals to my inner OCD nerd. If you get these, I'd recommend supplementing them with a feather-edge file to start the slots.
Prostheta
It's also worthwhile considering equal spacing as opposed to equal centres.
Prostheta
Goddamnit Andrew, that's a beautiful guitar. Really dialled back given your usual output, but definitely a step in the right direction in terms of your work development.
Andyjr1515
I love the look of that all round I like the lines very much indeed and personally LOVE the colour.
