It's not spalted, it's brazilian rosewood with a sapwood edge.

Guitaraxz
IMO, two humbuckers, zebra, and no pickguard (or maybe a transparent, ala Gretch, one) is the coolest look for that guitar.
Prostheta
+1 on the transparent pickguard. Flame polished smoke acrylic would be amazing.
jessejames
Coming along nicely if I say so myself. Never heard of flame polished smoked acrylic. I will have to check into that.
Prostheta
Smoke acrylic is pretty easy to get ahold of. Just look up Perspex suppliers near you. Flame polishing is just a method of using a torch to polish out any inconsistencies in the edges; pop "flame polishing" into YouTube. Norris
There's quite a lot going on with that headstock. How have you constructed that?
ScottR
There is a lot going on with the whole guitar. Many impressive chunks of wood competing for attention. It will be fascinating to see how get them to all complement each other. SR

Measured, cut, glued No, I mean I did to all that, but I am going to route out the upper part of the headstock flush to where that will go to also use it as a faceplate.
