No, i cut them by hand on the bandsaw, then i rough flatten them on an edge sander. Then i use a short 8" fret leveler for the final flattening.

Indian rosewood. It wasnt thick enough to spare any planing after making it a multi lam piece. And if i turned it sideways, the grain was boring and looked like walnut.

Im actually not sure. I feel like mine is south american. The guy i buy it from has absolutely insane woods from everywhere.
