I have enough wood for 3 guitar bodies at the moment so I've gotta slate one of those to be a piezo machine like this. Sweet guitar! Love that sound! Steve Vai
I'm going to do a project like this, so I'd like some advice from anyone. It will be a semi hollow Strat with a spruce top and an undersaddle Shadow piezo. I have an extra Schatten soundboard transducer (http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics,_pickups/Pickups:_Guitar,_Acoustic/Schatten_Soundboard_Transducer.html) and I'm thinking of making a single coil route to put the transducer in the bottom of (attach it to the bottom of the route) Would this be a good idea? Since most expensive classical guitars are made out of rosewood backs, would it be a good idea to use rosewood for this one? Or should I just stick with mahogany? Also, what's a good preamp to use? Should I make a simple one like just an output booster or buy one designed for acoustic guitars?
