  3. Well, i had the jemp like, 98% complete, was semi happy with it, but not overly, and there was a few stuff that was bugging me, i didnt like the pickguard, or the rear cover, the body had a dent in it, and just a few finishing mis haps, so, i, i destroyed the body, lol so, i now have electronics, bridge, a good neck, and MISC hardware, so, i am off to build me a pimpin flying V ! specs so far: Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, 24 frets TOM bridge string thru body GOTOH mini tuning pegs Seymour Duncan 59 pickups (but, i may use the stock ones out of my Hamer and put the SD's in the Hamer, not sure yet) Custom flying V design Now, I want some nice lows out of this, so i am thinking Alder body, or possibly basswood, if i can get it thick enough if worse comes to worse, i will buy some straight grain mahogany and do it up mahogany body maple neck Edit, figured i might as well show you the rough shape idea, its just on paper I got to fix up around the neck pocket though, its a little off Curtis
  4. it could be adjustable at the heel of the guitar, but you dont have to take the neck off, you just have to remove the neck pickup to adjust it you might as wel pick up the cheap neck as well and then you have one kickin around, incase you do need it Curtis
  5. so thats going to be a super smooth, very fast neck once you sand it down as far as your going and clear it, right? your giving me too many ideas wes, Curtis

  10. I like that, it looks like you can get great upper fret access and the body shape is very appealing to the eye Good job! Curtis
  11. without any vol or tone pots, its going to sound REALLY bright just a tip Curtis
  12. i would do it this way: go from the neck pocket, draw 2 straight lines all the way from the neck pocket to the butt of the guiar, now, go over to our friend Mr. Bandsaw, and cut along those lines, now, go to the jointer, and plane the edges you just cut smooth, get a nice peice of Maple long enough to make an neck PLUS through the body (or, in other terms, a neck through) and then carve the neck to your liking and such, route for new pickups and drill the holes for the bridge, sand everything down nice and smooth, and spray on your first coat of primer, and eventually move up to a nice flat black with old school hot rod flames going up the guitar but, thats just how i would do it Curtis
  13. donate to the site and you ca access the download section, it has lots of accurate guitar plans there.... Curtis
  14. you do know you can cut out a body with a handsaw, just leave LOTS of room for sanding all you really need is a handsaw, lots of sand paper, chisels (sharp ones preferably) a hammer to hit the chisels with (unless, your like wes or myself and have guns o steel ) and, if you have a router, then your laughin!! also, buy Melvin Hiscoocks (spelling?) book about building your own guitar, and read the tutorials on here!! http://projectguitar.com/menu/tutorial.htm will be your friend! Curtis
  15. if your simply going to state that it is not an actual Fender, then why do you want a fender logo on it? *scratches head* Curtis

  23. wes, if your saying i went out in my birthday suit in the middle of a field with a battery powered amp (a decent one) and decent pickups, with the most "perfect" humidity, and using the "perfect" pick and the guitar was perfect, i would be the best guitarist out there, tone wise?? wow, see y'all in the headlines!
