Tough choice for me. KTL's very cool, unorthodox guitar. Very innovative looking design.
Or LGM's very tasteful, traditional acoustic.
I really enjoy a quality acoustic with tasteful inlay work so after thinking about it I had to go with LGM.
When painting a guitar, as stated already, make sure the area is dust free AND....
make sure there aren't bugs flying around.
Thankfully, it was my scrap test piece but this mosquito is fossilized in it now
That double neck SG would weigh so much you couldn't play it for very long without getting a hernia.
I always think that whenever I see a double necked guitar. It seems like a display model for someone's collection more than an actual gigging guitar.
I'd REALLY REALLY like to see it in GOTM!
The inlay, the finish on the body, the LEDs, the birdeye maple neck and the modest, perfectly placed controls WITH THE PICK-UP boost?! ...KILLER F'n AXE MAN!
I needed some wood rough cut and planed for a table awhile back.
After making a couple calls I found someone.
I brought the wood and some beers and talked to the guy for about 15 minutes and we just drank the beer and talked about building afterwards.
I made a friend
"BEHOLD! The power of beer!"
I hope you make it through OK.
On a lighter note, it sounds like a perfect opportunity for a new project!
Throw a strat in the tornados path and voila!
Your very own 'reliced' strat
When I went to Home Depot for the Titebond I couldn't remember if Titebond 1 or 2 was the best. Luckily I remembered this pic that Wes had of his pictorial on his neck-through. It shows the label and cap color clearly.
Thanks wes
Which scales to learn depends more on your style you like to play. For blues-rock the minor pentatonic is great and widely used in many styles.
Once I learn the box patterns along the neck for a scale, I try to find ways of sliding in and out between 2 then 3 patterns, etc...
I also like to learn the scales on single strings and use the box patterns and single string scales and mix the two. Then I try playing scales 2 & 3 notes at a time.
As I'm learning the scales I try and make sure to figure out good rythm patterns to jam over with the scales.
It's easy to get more involved playing scales/lead style while your rythm/chord progressions suffer so be sure to practice both.
This is just how I like to practice but there's lotsa ways.
Hope this helps
Only 15 minutes away from me
Tommy's a cool guy and has given me some useful advice on my first project. Their customer service is just above and beyond anyone else.
Now that USACG has a new site I don't think they have customer pics up, last time I checked, so maybe you could submit yours to Tommy.
That's a cool pair of guitars
I guess I didn't need to be late for work since the interview is online here - http://www.bobrivers.com/show/vault/search_both.asp
The first half is interview. The second half is where the songs are.
Pretty crappy sound at that link (was cool on my radio this morning, cranked up at McDonald's drive through, LoL) but Joe's playing was cool as always.
It's still there at USA custom guitars. They have the latest version with a couple new features on it and a new look to the website.
Here's the site with an RG template and others as well.
I was late to work this morning 'cause Joe Satriani was the guest this morning on KZOK 102.5 (Seattle station) so I, of course, had to listen.
He played 'Hands in the air', 'Summer Song' & 'Satch Boogie'.
I didn't know he was 47 years old
SATCH RAWKS!
I thought it would be cool to have a thread dedicated to LINKS to Guitar Galleries or cool guitars and builders.
Maybe it will inspire some cool future projects around here.
Here's one:
Moonstone guitars
I like this builders choice of woods and body styles.
...and another
Don Grosh Guitars
I love his tele-ish shaped bodies enough to base my project body after. I just played one recently and couldn't believe the quality of the fret job. Bend a note with vibrato and there's no fret noise. Like butta!
Would it be a copyright infringement to post this info on your site? LoL
How goes the battle?
Any word or has it gotten to expensive to keep up?
I still get pissed when I read about this guy.
I found a link to stew-mac about sharpening a cabinet scraper.
You can shave quite a bit of wood with good control not to mention they're inexpensive and easy to find.
