Daniel Sorbera
I LOVE that truss rod cover. I think the headstock would look much better if you scalloped the outside edges like the body. Those strait edges just dont go with the rest of the guitar. Or mabye carve the edges of the headstock so it comes to a point? Like if your looking at the headstock legenth wise (like down the neck) the headstock looks like this <------>

jmrentis
That little change in the headstock looks pretty cool, but I don't think it's necessary, I really like how it looks anyways. If the whole headstock was much bigger I would say use the chamfer bit again, but how it is would take the corner too close to the tuner holes, plus it would be damn hard to get into that cutout in the middle. Looks absolutely amazing all put together! As I think I asked once have you thought about doing a two tone paint where the top and back is one color like grey and the chamfered edge is red, or black or white. It might look really cool, maybe you could do your paintshop thing to see, you seem to be super skilled at that stuff. Too bad your hammered paint thing isn't going to work out for you! Thats sucks! Keep us posted on whats up for you next! Later. Jason

westhemann
i just don't want to hear anything from anybody about any similarities between our headstocks when i post my future guitars...this is the headstock i am using on everything i have been planning since over a year ago, when i first showed the design to perry..it is obvious that they are very similar...but then again...my headstock is just as similar to other headstocks out there. not that i care...i am all for sharing.i just want it on record because i don't want to hear that i copied anything... i also modified it to work with my beast http://westhemann.com/finished%20beast/IM000036.JPG it's all good

westhemann
well they ARE different, but definately similar. but i know you came to your idea all by yourself... i joined the alder for that body friday, and cut it out and drum sanded it yesterday...like it?it is a direct rip off of an esp f series...but i am making it a set neck with a 26" scale...and a homer simpson as the devil inlay at the 12th... i usually shy away from production guitar copies...but the one i have just feels so nice and comfy to play...it just sounds bad

westhemann
And Would That Be The Neck I see In the Background? man,you notice everything! but no,that neck is for my "devil's vee" as drak calls it...the neck for THIS one is right beside it..in the shadows, you can barely see it...but since it is going to be an all black guitar(even the neck) the wood is much plainer.. here you go just plain old maple and honduran mahogany
