stageleft
I am a photographer that shoots local NYC bands for a living......I could name a bunch, but that doesn't do anyone any good, so I'll add a few links to some of my favorites. http://www.jeffersonthomas.com/index.html http://www.queenv.com/ http://www.ceciliatheband.com/ http://www.highspeedchase.net/ http://flymecourageous.com/ http://crewmannumbersix.com/index1.html They pretty much cover anything from folk to metal, and everything in between. I do have to say, I personally seem to lean to the metal George

ThePlague
i'm not sure what you're defining unheard of as, so i'll just list some bands that people on here MIGHT not know. none of these are too obscure. arcturus - avant garde/post black metal. garm of ulver did vocals for every album up until the one they released this year. magnitude 9 - power/prog metal. very melodic with the singer hitting some wicked high notes. mithras - experimental death metal. i haven't heard much from these guys, but what i've heard is very good. jmrentis
HAHA! You all are right I have never heard of any of them. I'm pretty easy and like most things but I do have a few favorites, I like rock and metal mostly. No matter how much good music I hear Tool is still my favorite band and A Perfect Circle I like a lot too. EVen with all Tools success they tend to stay out of the Hollywood aspect of music, they don't do do MTV shows or Vh1 they rarely will do an interview, and still they sell out huge stadiums very quickly. ONe year they were playing here in San Diego with King Crimson and they sold out in like 14 minutes at $80 a pop. I thought that was crazy, strangely enough the next year it was a fair amount cheaper and still sold out quickly, that year they had Meshugga(sp) opening for them, cool band too. I still like some older bands like Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains. J Edited November 20, 2005 by jmrentis
