!!METAL MATT!!
Ok I just came up with this one after I saw a guitar that Nitefly SA made up Now cleary this one came out nothing like his ( I just Cant NOT do a pointy design ) anyway I really like how this design is starting off life now there are a few thing I may want to rework LIKE the base of the fretboard (Its a bit to long) and the placement of the Volume and tone and Im also not sure if I want to add bevels to this design !!METAL MATT!! WezV
I like it alot, but use your bevels dude. You could get a whole baby on that spike!!
brewu22
Fade the bevels. Full bevel on the bottom and around the corners, then fade out half way up the body. Lose the tone control and sink the volume into the body a bit. I really like the design.
Inisheer
Reminds me a lot of a Jackson Kelly body, but more evil looking. You said that you don't like the fingerboard being so long, but I think it looks really cool with it cut and sticking out like that.
The Fatalities
ooo i like the neck. any bet , emgs right?
Canuck Brian
string thru with a tune o matic bridge would look awesome. Keep the long part of the fretboard though, adds to the whole design. Here's a question (after using the search feature) How do you do the faded bevels that brew mentioned, similar to the ones on a Rhodes? I can't find a single thing on how to do it. Nitefly SA
I would say a rasp sand paper and patience.

if you're talking about the one he posted in my thread, his is just a slight variation on my design, so really it's more based on my design than his MEH its all good the olny thing on my design thats close to being the same is maybe the fretboard any bet , emgs right? Im not sure yet but ya its a good bet How do you do the faded bevels that brew mentioned, similar to the ones on a Rhodes? I can't find a single thing on how to do it. I would say a rasp sand paper and patience. Yep thats the best way !!METAL MATT!!
Setch
I like it. I'd be tempted to angle the horn down slightly - at present I get a slightly crooked vibe. I think it would flow better if the angle of the horn closely matched the angles of the upper bouts.
ToneMonkey
I'd have to carve the point so it finished in a circular cross section, in a point. Could get knocked off fairly easy, but would look evil. You could always impale some cats on it for added effect
Ben
Bevel-wise I think this could look pretty cool: also it would probably be comfier for your right arm EDIT: I also agree with setch that the shape could benefit from a litle tweaking. Also have you seen this before: (scroll down- its the first guitar on the page) http://www.jhs.co.uk/metalaxxe.html cos your design reminds me of it Edited August 23, 2006 by Ben

Doeringer
Always like your work but this works more than your other designs (for me anyway). I appreciate pointy designs, just not a big fan. This doesn't look crooked to me, flows nicely.
ihocky2
I like the design. Did you try sketching one up with the ESP Explorer type rear. Where it curves in instead of out. Might make it look more point. Or could just make it look bad, but just a minor thought. I would absolutely go with the faded bevels. I also like the idea of only one control and recessed into the body a litte. Maybe use a concentric pot if you want both controls.
jtmullet
It reminds me of a guild x 79 alot pretty cool.
!!METAL MATT!!
Im not sure If I like it with Bevels or not !!METAL MATT!!
Logical Frank
I like it w/o. I think w/ the dramatic shape the bevels are just too much--though I suppose that's kinda the point w/ something like this.
Robert_the_damned
I'll have one of those please! with a proper TOM and tail piece of course though. personally I'd make the front pointy horn a little shorter. I'm not a big bevels fan (you can't put multi-ply on then! ) got a sweet looking matching headstock to go with it? Robert
!!METAL MATT!!
I think I like a simple Bevel on this one
Ben
I think I like a simple Bevel on this one Now that you've drawn it up I think I agree I still thing somethings a little iffy about that pointy horn/cutaway area, I just cant put my finger on the problem
Logical Frank
I like that too. The extreme bevels looked like you were trying too hard to look mean. The simple bevels are even more vicious looking due to their subtlety.
ihocky2
I like it a lot better with the simple bevels. I think what might look a little off is how long the lower horn/point looks. The horn almost looks as long as the body.
oz tradie
+1 to the smaller bevels. What's the story up the headstock end? any ideas yet?
