Maelstrom Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 Ok here she is: this was the actual swirl attempt... Quote
rob Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 Wow! thats preaty impressive! Blue, black and white swirl looks the best, sort of brings over a midnight feeling Quote
gw_guitars Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 That looks very nice! Good choice of colours. Most swirls look like a bowling ball and I don't like that. This one I do LIKE. Quote
westhemann Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 looks awesome!!!and i love the 707s Quote
PaulNeeds Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 Lovely deep gloss - one to be extremely proud of. well done! Quote
Jupiter Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Wow!!!!!!! That looks really, really great!!!!!! Excellent job! Did you get a custom body made { i noticed it only had one volume knob }, or did you just fill the original? What exact products did you use for this project { paint, clear, etc... } ? That clear looks great! Congrats! Quote

Maelstrom Posted August 6, 2003 Author Report Posted August 6, 2003 Did you get a custom body made { i noticed it only had one volume knob }, or did you just fill the original? I just filled it... nothing special about that... There is a product called "chemical wood" here in sweden that I used. A type of filler for wood. The colors I used where Humbrol Urethane Laquer and can be bought at any hobby-store. Clear was hagmans 2-components acrylic. Quote
the third eye Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 i love that guitar so damn much!!!!!!!! Quote
Sean Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 That guitar is just phenominal. I really really like it. Quote
Jehle Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 This is a sweet looking axe. This one and Simons are the only two swirl guitar paint jobs that I've seen that would make me even consider doing one. Ace job! Quote
Strange Fruit Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Dude, that is one sweet axe! I really cant stand most of Ibanez's factory finishes, and its great to see someone have the guts to do what is obviously their prized guitar as their first dipping project, now you make me wanna dip my bass!
